How can I be assured that you are a reputable company and not a fly-by-night operation?

Go2Africa has been an independent, registered and annually audited company since 1998. Our company registration number is 1998/015392/07. We operate out of an 830m2 office in the heart of Cape Town with a staff of 100 passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable people.

We have been creating superb, seamless African holidays for our inbound travellers for over ten years, using Africa's most reputable operators as our business partners. We are further backed by our membership of industry associations such as SATSA (Southern Africa Tourism Services Association), ATTA (African Travel and Tourism Association) and ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents).

For your financial protection and peace of mind while you are travelling with us, and even before you leave home, Go2Africa provides default travel insurance to all our travellers.

If you want more objective opinions about our travel services, approach any reputable Africa travel product owner or supplier for a reference. Or you could go on to Fodors' or Trip Advisor's discussion forums and ask open questions to the unbiased, worldwide community.

What tangible security can you offer me if I book with you?

Go2Africa has purchased a default insurance policy and passed on our benefits to you to ensure you have financial peace of mind for the duration of your journey. Things can go wrong while - or even before - you go on vacation, so we have made sure that your interests are protected.

As a Go2Africa traveller you'll be automatically insured from time of deposit payment. Do note, however, that Go2Africa is not a Financial Service Provider, and as such we are unable to provide you with financial advice. Should you require further information or assistance, please contact our Insurance Provider.

Additionally, we are fully accredited with SATSA (Southern Africa Tourism Services Association), ATTA (African Travel and Tourism Association) and ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents).

Who are your business partners and how do you choose them?

We're really fussy when it comes to whom we do business with; we not only expect our operators to deliver the same kind of service we provide but we expect them to share the same values towards our clients - and Africa.

So, over the 10 years we've built up solid, professional, tried-and-trusted relationships with some of Africa's - and the world's - top travel and tourism brands: SAA (South African Airways), CCA, Wilderness Safaris, Orient-Express, Mala Mala, Singita, Beachcomber, One&Only Resorts and British Airways to mention a few.

To ensure standards remain as high as we think they should be, we inspect all product we offer regularly and contract service deliverables annually.

What happens to my vacation if Go2Africa goes under? Would I be able to lodge a claim?

We're not going anywhere but we'll respectfully answer your question! In the extremely unlikely event of our insolvency, you will be covered through the benefits of our group default insurance policy. You will be able to lodge a claim for all payments made to us.

Bottom line, booking with Go2africa is a financially protected decision. We provide financial peace of mind.

What is the company's history?

Go2Africa is the brainchild of Mark Preyer, who blazed an e-trail through the embryonic online travel industry in the mid-1990s. With backgrounds in both IT and business, Mark saw the potential of the worldwide web and set up Go2Africa in 1998.

His instinct proved right and the company quickly grew - an expansion that in 2004 saw the dynamic addition of Joanne Dickson as Managing Director.

Growth has been constant, and today we can proudly say that we are the leading online retailer of travel to Africa.

Do you arrange international flights?

Absolutely. We offer worldwide flights into and within South Africa, Southern Africa, East Africa and Indian Ocean Islands at the most competitive fares available. All you need to do is tell us where you want to go and when.

What does Go2Africa offer that other companies don't?

Being located in Africa means we know what we're talking about: our Africa Safari Travel Experts are very well travelled and therefore have extensive, first-hand experience of the countries and places they sell - you won't find better knowledge or expert advice.

Being based locally allows us to contract all our product directly and thus know our product partners extremely well. That means we're competitively priced - there are no expensive middlemen costed into your vacation - and should anything go amiss with your travel arrangements, or if you have an emergency, we are on standby locally and in direct contact with product owners and suppliers in order to immediately mobilise the necessary resources to assist you as quickly as possible.

Furthermore, we are totally independent: we're not obligated to sell product we don't believe in. We are extremely fussy about what we sell and we won't won't accept payment for a listing or offer any product that doesn't meet our strict criteria.

Other travel companies may push their clients through service providers who offer financial incentives; we only offer product we feel perfectly suits our travellers' requirements and will always do what's right regardless of the cost.

Do you operate safaris or provide on ground services yourself?

We are a specialist retail Africa Travel Company based in Cape Town - we don't operate the lodges, provide on ground services or run the safaris ourselves but what we do is make use of Africa's leading safari operators, ground handlers and destination management companies to ensure that your vacation is a seamless and unforgettable one.

Am I eligible for travel to Africa? Can Go2Africa arrange my visas?

Anyone with a valid passport is eligible to travel to the countries and top destinations we offer. You will however need to check whether you need a visa for any of the countries you plan to visit and this is best done with your nearest relevant embassy or consulate, or your local visa shop.

Please note that Go2Africa is unable to arrange visas for our clients and we cannot be held responsible if visa applications are denied for any reason. We also cannot be held responsible for any changes in costs, requirements, delays, or loss of passports caused by the issuing authorities.
