Although originally from England, Joanne studied at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and went straight into the tourism and hospitality industry by joining the Karos Hotels group. She followed this up with a two-year period during which she travelled and worked throughout Europe, including a six-month stint at Switzerland's premier ski resort Verbier.
The past 12 years have included product, franchise and business management. Joanne also held a two-year contract with the PGA Tour of America, managing ticket sales and travel logistics for the 2003 President's Cup at Fancourt in George on South Africa's Garden Route.
Joanne plays a key role at Go2Africa in developing the business and focusing on the creation of new and improved services and solutions. She is passionate about ensuring that Go2Africa delivers excellent service to each of its customers.
Her role includes keeping Go2Africa competitive, focused and successful. She is responsible for recruiting and retaining innovative, talented staff and fostering a culture of professional development and excellence. Joanne is committed to recognising and rewarding excellent performance and for identifying and correcting performance, policies and procedures that don't meet Go2Africa's high standards.
Joanne feels that what makes Go2Africa different is its overall commitment to excellence and the fact that we continually strive to improve everything we do. She aims to ensure that Go2Africa remains the leader in tourism and safari travel throughout the African continent - 'We lead, we don't follow, in everything: product, technology and service. We believe our customers are the ultimate judges of our performance and accordingly poor performance is not tolerated,' she says.
Joanne's vision for Go2Africa is that we are globally recognised as the leading customer contact centre for travel throughout Africa and we uphold our mission: to create dream vacations within Africa for those who want to explore.
