Why is my quote split into two currencies?

We have to invoice in the same currency that our suppliers invoice us in; if you are traveling to South Africa and Kenya for example, there may be separate South African Rand and US Dollar payments.

What currencies does Go2Africa accept?

The currencies you are invoiced in depend on the supplier and not Go2Africa. Generally we find the main currencies we deal with are South African Rands and US Dollars.

Do you charge me for using my credit card?

Go2Africa does not levy any charges if you pay for your trip by credit card. However, we currently only accept Mastercard and Visa as they are registered for Safe Secure and Verified by Visa payments so that your online transactions are protected.

Why has my online payment been declined?

The online payment system is linked to hundreds of banks across the globe and each has its own error code system. We have tried to standardise this but ultimately the kind of error reported depends on the bank itself.

If you have a Safe Secure card but haven't yet registered for a password from your bank, or your password has not yet been activated, you may have to wait a day or two before making your payment.

If you have to make two payments in different currencies it is often advisable to wait for a day in between payments. Transactions in different currencies on the same day would alert the bank to a possibly fraudulent transaction and this may delay your payment while the bank checks that it is all as it should be.

If this is the case, please speak to your SVC about which payment should be made first - often it's worth paying for your flights first to ensure that you don't lose your tickets.

You may also want to notify your bank that you will be doing international transactions and check if there is a limit on the number or the value of international transactions you can do within a certain time period.

Do you offer a discount to travel industry staff members?

If you qualify for a travel industry rebate, you'll need to contact the supplier (lodge, airline or safari operator) directly.

Are you able to offer resident rates?

Different charges for the same product do exist in the industry but there is no standard policy: the answer depends on the country and/or relevant operator. Your Specialist Vacation Consultant will be happy to get you the best deal possible.
