Covering all the major highlights of East Africa, from the thunderous Victoria Falls to magical Lake Malawi, picture-perfect Zanzibar and the game abundant Serengeti; this is truly a trip of a lifetime.
- Day 1: Livingstone
- Itinerary
You spend your first day on tour enjoying the activities on offer in Livingstone and Vic Falls, and getting to know your fellow travellers before the trip leaves Livingstone the following morning.
Optional Activities: Zambezi white water rafting, bungee jumping, elephant back safari, Zambezi sunset cruise, Vic Falls National Park
- Days 2 - 3: Lusaka & Luangwa River
- Itinerary
Leaving behind the excitement of Vic Falls, you depart on your expedition. The journey towards the bustling Zambian capital of Lusaka takes you along an interesting route.
You begin the following day with some shopping in Lusaka before heading northeast towards the Luangwa River, where you spend the night. This is an interesting area full of friendly locals, and a walk along the river is a rewarding experience.
- Days 4 - 5: South Luangwa National Park
- Itinerary
Early in the morning you drive from the Luangwa River to the South Luangwa National Park, where you spend two nights on the banks of the river.
The second day is put aside for activities. You can choose between a morning or night game drive, and a game walk accompanied by a professional local guide. If the South Luangwa National Park is not for you, you can relax by the pool instead.
On occasion, in the rainy season, it is impossible or inadvisable to attempt to reach South Luangwa National Park. If this happens, then an alternative itinerary will be chosen.

- Day 6: Luwawa Forest
- Itinerary
Leaving South Luangwa National Park in the early morning, you cross the Zambia-Malawi border. Heading north, you enter the highlands of Malawi and spend the night at Luwawa Forest. There are some wonderful hikes in the area as well as other activities.

- Days 7 - 10: Lake Malawi
- Itinerary
Lake Malawi is the southernmost of the Great Rift Valley lakes. The lake is at an altitude of around 500 metres and has a tropical climate. You can spend the next couple of carefree days relaxing on the white, sandy beaches in one of the most scenic and memorable holiday destinations in Africa.
For the more adventurous there are endless leisure and water sport activities. The evenings are spent beside the tranquil waters.
Optional Activities: Scuba diving, parasailing, windsurfing, fishing, canoeing, horse riding, hiking, etc
- Days 11 - 12: Iringa & Dar es Salaam
- Itinerary
Today you make the border crossing out of Malawi. Leaving the lake behind you, you head for your first night in Tanzania. As you ascend out of the Great Rift Valley through some spectacular mountain passes, you pass the vast tea plantations in the highlands, on your way to the camp outside Iringa.
The next day you transit through Mikumi National Park to the historical port city of Dar es Salaam.
- Days 13 - 15: Zanzibar
- Itinerary
On this optional activity, a transfer by ferry takes you to Zanzibar, where you spend the next few days exploring this fascinating island with its renowned architecture, beautiful beaches, colourful history and delicious food.
The excursion is at your own expense, so costs can be adjusted depending on your preferred level of luxury and the activities you choose.
Breakfast on Day 13 only

- Days 16 - 17: Dar es Salaam & Arusha
- Itinerary
Today you leave Zanzibar and catch a late ferry (or flight) back to Dar es Salaam, where you return to the campsite. The evening can be spent reminiscing about your days on the island.
The next day you go on a long and scenic drive to Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania. If the weather is favourable and skies are clear, you might see Mount Kilimanjaro. After arriving in Arusha, those who are going to explore the Serengeti National Park, prepare for their excursion.
Breakfast and lunch on Day 17 only.
- Days 18 - 19: Serengeti / Ngorongoro
- Itinerary
There are many options available, ranging from a one-day safari to the Ngorongoro crater, to a fantastic three-day trip into the Serengeti National Park. As this is for your own expense, you can select the activity which best matches your budget and interests.
For those not going to the parks, you can take this opportunity to absorb some of the fascinating local culture. One of the guides will remain with those that decide to stay in Arusha.

- Day 21: Nairobi
- Itinerary
After crossing the border into Kenya, you continue to travel towards Nairobi and the end of your journey. Although your tour has come to an end, some groups like to spend this last evening dining at local restaurant.
