Situated in the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park, Tshukudu Bush Lodge is built into the side of a hill and overlooks a waterhole and the rolling grassland environment of this Big 5 reserve. Covering some 55 000ha, Pilanesberg is South Africa's fourth largest reserve and guests at Tshukudu will be treated to bush walks and game drives in the company of experienced field guides.

As well as the Big 5 and no fewer than 360 bird species, the park is home to a great diversity of other animals and then there's all the excitement of a day at Sun City. Set right next door to Pilanesberg, South Africa's biggest entertainment resort offers golf, tennis, squash, a crocodile farm, a casino, live shows, horse riding and a theatre.

Facilities

Tshukudu Game Lodge's list of facilities includes a swimming pool and game viewing decks, a concierge service, a restaurant, laundry and dry cleaning service, full security and medical assistance on call plus a transfer service.

Dining

A full English brunch is served at the end of an early morning game drive while high tea provides sustenance before the afternoon activity.

Sundowners are served on game drives while a selection of fine wines accompanies the five-course dinner - meals are served in the dining room, out on the patio or in the African boma.

Luxury Cottages

Tshukudu Bush Lodge offers only six luxury cottages, each with private balconies and huge views. Slate floors and the thatched roof keep you cool in the hottest weather while fireplaces and hot water bottles will keep you warm during cold winter nights. Plush leather sofas, hanging glass crystal chandeliers and soft furnishings in vibrant colours complete the decadent picture.

A double bed and chaise lounge provide plenty of comfort while the en suite bathroom is decadently fitted with a sunken bath tub. You will find a safety deposit box, mini-bar, hairdryers, books and magazines as well as a tea and coffee facility.
