Traveller Reviews

  • Your recommendation of HoneyGuide for our specific request to try tented accommodations was just perfect. Of course it was different from the luxury accomodations we had been in up to that point, but it was in fact something we wanted to try. The game viewing here was the most "natural" in our opinion.

  • As to the safari camps, well Paul was dubious about Honeyguide but that will definitely figure on a return trip - just for longer - it was a great experience, with enough luxury to mean it didn't feel like camping.

    Kathryn Fowler, August 2009
  • Overall experience of the camp was very good, especially opportunity to stay in bushes. It was delightful experience of waking to chirping of birds in fresh forest morning air. Food was excellent and staying was comfortable. Safari timings were good and lengthy. We saw all 4 out of Big 5 and numerous others animals & birds.

    Manish Lodaya, December 2008
  • It was a lot of fun. Leyton, our guide, was the best and really made a connection with the kids. The rest of the staff was welcoming and the food and service were wonderful.

  • Sunel and Gawie were lovely hosts, so kind and interesting and we fell in love with Honeyguide Mantobeni. The open air tents were incredibly romantic and such a refreshing change of pace. Safari itself was mindblowing, as we saw the Big 5 and a ton of other animals after just 2 game drives! So many opportunities to see animals since we had such a dedicated and great guide and luck.

  • It is perfect for children and so close to nature. We were the only family and all the staff was for us for high quality service (rooms, safaris... and very tasty food and wines!) but with discretion. All families was very happy to start with them.

    Bruno Pagnoux, June 2008
  • We loved it, the best part of the trip. The facility is not at Sabi Sabi level of course. The tents are nice and large nevertheless my wife spent the two nights there looking around the tent if a Black Mamba or a Violin Spider was trying to bite one of my kids But the people there are really great. Warm and competent personnel. Lots of animals including the big five. Food also very good. Moreover it is a children oriented lodge so my kids had the best time. We want to go back there sooner or later.
