Set against a giant cliff face in the beautiful Phinda Resource Reserve in KwaZulu Natal, Phinda Rock Lodge delivers an exclusive safari experience and is perfect for honeymooners and romantics.

This private Big 5 reserve is famous for its abundance of game and the lodge offers exciting game drives and guided nature walks to absorb the drama. You can also enjoy some excellent bird watching from motor boat cruises and take part in other water-based activities such as snorkelling, canoeing and scuba diving off the nearby subtropical Maputoland coastline.

Facilities

Phinda Rock Lodge offers excellent facilities to ensure an exclusive and luxurious stay.

All the central guest areas, including the lounge and dining areas, have spectacular views of the reserve's grasslands and the majestic Lebombo Mountains.

In the winter, a cosy fire is a feature of the lounge while beautiful sunsets can be enjoyed on the west-facing outside deck.

In summer you can spend your days relaxing in and around the swimming pool between game viewing activities though more active guests may want to also make use of the lodge's gym.

Dining

Dinner at Phinda Rock Lodge is a Pan-African banquet. It can be served in the dining room where you will dine under wrought iron chandeliers next to an open fireplace.

In good weather, a bush dinner is prepared where you can dine under the starlit sky.

Phinda is also renowned for its elegant bush breakfasts, served with a flourish after a morning game drive.

Standard Suite

Phinda Rock Lodge has six suites, each with a large bedroom and en suite bathroom including a bath and shower - note that some of the rooms have outdoor showers where you can shower with a view or under the stars.

Each suite - suspended from the edge of the rocky cliff - has its own private lounge, deck and plunge pool, and is incredibly spacious with fantastic views.
