overview

Situated in the heart of the Sabi Sand Reserve, bordering the world-renowned Kruger National Park, Ulusaba Safari Lodge lies beneath a canopy of ancient jackalberry trees and offers a truly remarkable wilderness experience. Ideal for families and romantics alike, the lodge has only 11 rooms, promising privacy and uninterrupted views of the beautiful African savannah.

The lodge is perched on the edge of a dry riverbed and you'll regularly see animals walking past on their way to the nearby watering hole. Relax beside the swimming pool and enjoy these views or head out on twice daily game drives to search for Africa's Big 5. A daily walking safari, guided by an expert ranger and tracker, will teach you more about the diverse ecosystems, while a visit to the observatory in the evening will give you the chance to enjoy unspoiled stargazing.

Traveller Reviews

  • Ulusaba was fantastic! Really great service, we really enjoyed it.

  • Our favourite was Ulusaba Safari Lodge. It is hard to put into words how incredible those five days were. The game drives and the staff were top notch. They made us feel like family.

    Christie Sabat, September 2010
  • Ulusaba was amazing, seriously the best place we have ever stayed, and that is saying a lot because we have stayed in luxury resorts all over the world! You should highly recommend it without hesitation to all of your clients!! They upgraded us to a nicer room without saying a word (they must just do it automatically if available), the service was amazing, food incredible, game drives fantastic, the staff were the best, seriously everything was perfect!! We couldn't have asked for a better experience, there is seriously nothing they could do to make it better!

    Michelle Rogers, December 2008
  • We were made to feel so welcome again, Llane and Karl met us off the plane, every member of staff went out of their way to say welcome back and we really felt special. The game viewing here is so good and this year was no exception - Jeff came home with close to 4000 photos! The lodge and rooms are lovely - and it is always really nice to see the little changes and improvements they make each year. The service has always been good, and we were really pleased to note that the standard of the food has dramatically improved on last year.

    Jeff Stanford, October 2008
  • Animal viewing at Ulusaba was amazing. I would highly recommend either camp!

    Maureen Lonergan, October 2008
  • We loved Ulusaba and would probably rate it our first choice over all the other camps we have visited.

    Hanko Rosenblad, July 2008
  • Was outstanding! The staff, the lodge and the game drives were all incredible! He was quite taken back by just how close the encounters are with the wildlife - not complaining though as he was in awe of the sightings he saw - including a night drive with the lions eating a kill!

    Tony Bugg, April 2008
