Mara Intrepids Club recreates the romance and charm of the old safari experience. The camp is located in a peaceful setting, shaded by large trees and spread out along the riverbanks. Early in the morning, before morning game drives, you wake to tea and coffee served in your tent. During the day you can venture out on game drives or relax on a sun-bed around the swimming pool.

The safari experience at Mara Intrepids Club is a unique game-viewing adventure. It includes 3 daily game drives with experienced guides and educational outings with the Adventurers' Club accompanied by the camp's resident naturalist. Cultural trips to neighbouring Maasai villages - where Mara supports several community development projects - can also be arranged for you.

Facilities

The high thatched roofs and polished wooden floors of the main lounge area create a cool, breezy area to relax, as does the extensive wooden deck where many meals are taken alfresco.

The well-stocked bar is an excellent place for a sundowner drink or an after dinner night-cap. Keep cool on African afternoons in the camp’s refreshing swimming pool.

Dining

Mara Intrepids Club serves classic, home-cooked cuisine with an imaginative flair. Enjoy meals and drinks on the large dining terrace beside the freeform swimming pool, or gaze out over the plains from the game-viewing platform with a refreshing drink in hand.

For a more intimate dining experience, the lodge offers small riverfront dining areas with private catering. Alternatively, you can get closer to nature with a champagne bush breakfast or dinner.

Standard Tent

The Mara Intrepids Club consists of 30 air-conditioned tents, spread over the riverside site, and arranged in 4 distinct clusters which creates a more secluded safari experience.

The tents are spacious, comfortable, and handsomely furnished with African mahogany furniture and oversized 4-poster beds. Each room has a private raised platform with views over the river, and an en suite bathroom with shower, hot and cold running water and flush toilet.

The Family Tents at Mara Intrepids Club are spacious 2-bedroom affairs, with one double room and one twin room each with an en suite bathroom. The rooms are joined by a central sitting area that opens onto a big wooden deck.

  • Our first 3 night at Mara Intrepids was a magical introduction to Africa. The staff were warm and more than accommodating, our tents were spacious and luxurious, and the food was delicious. The abundance of wildlife, literally at our front door was jaw-dropping. Our driver Michael was excellent at finding every imaginable animal and bird in the Massai Mara.

  • It is definitely more "occidental"... but still allowed us to experience the mara in all of its splendor... though we were not able to see the big 5, we did see 4 of them, only the Rhino eluded us. Still, the trip was perfect.
