overview

Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is located in the western corridor of the famous Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The Park protects one of the last migration corridors and oldest ecosystems on earth. Its climate, vegetation and fauna have remained mostly unchanged over the past million years. Visit Grumeti Camp during the Great Migration for front row seats to one of Nature’s most spectacular shows.

Grumeti Camp offers exclusive tented accommodation overlooking a hippo-filled river. The emphasis here is on simple luxury and a romantic, close-to-nature ambience. Activities focus on witnessing the migration spectacle on daily game drives or on much-celebrated early morning hot-air balloon rides.

There is so much to see that afternoon drives last until sunset, when your ranger finds a spot to delve into the picnic hamper for sundowners and snacks. The game drive continues back to camp, with a deftly wielded spotlight seeking out nocturnal wildlife.

Traveller Reviews

  • Loved Grumeti Camp!

    Sandra Gill, August 2010
  • WOW! What a trip! It was absolutely amazing and we can't thank you enough for all of your help! The service at all of these places was excellent: it was genuine and it seemed as though the people were very happy to have us as guests. The food at all of these places was first class! The safaris: unbelievable. On all of our safaris, we were lucky to have very experienced guides and we will always remember them. We saw and learned so much.

  • Grumeti River Camp was outstanding. The "tent" was very well designed, and we loved the outdoor shower. We were the only guests in an open vehicle. In addition to living with the hippos, we enjoyed seeing our first cheetah and cub, crocodiles, and colobus monkeys.

    John Rosenblum, April 2009
  • Grumeti River camp was the most adventurous and offered the most "Oh my gosh I am going to die" excitement.
