La Petite Ferme is a beautiful wine estate set high above the country town of Franschhoek in the Cape Winelands region. Offering breathtaking views of the orchards and vineyards in the lush valley below, this luxurious guest house was listed by Conde Nast Traveller as one of the top 15 Best Value establishments in the World. The Franschhoek area offers numerous leisure activities from fly fishing, golf, cycling and horse riding to chocolate, wine, and cheese tasting.

Whilst dining at La Petite Ferme is a highlight of one’s stay, there are other wonderful ways to enjoy time. Cellar tours and wine tasting are daily offerings and for guests who are enticed by the idea of enjoying viticulture by horseback, Paradise Stables offer these unique trips. Live entertainment is also a regular feature at La Petite Ferme, and guests can enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace or under the trees by prior arrangement.

Dining

Country style breakfasts are served in the privacy of your cottage or you could choose a cooked farm breakfast which is available in the renowned restaurant.

The lunch menu at La Petite Ferme's restaurant is a combination of African, Malay and International influences, and the staff aim to deliver innovative food created with abundant fresh local produce.

Lunches are complemented by a selection of wines from the estate's award-winning cellar. Franschhoek offers a wide variety of excellent restaurants where you can enjoy dinner.

Standard Lodge

Five secluded luxury guest suites are set on the wine estate with views over the valley. The variation between the Luxury, Vista and De Luxe Suites comes down to the details of features such as the free-standing bathtub, walk-in dressing room and 4-poster bed.

The spacious rooms offer guests the choice of double or twin beds and come standard with ceiling fans, en suite bathrooms, fireplaces, TV and DVD players, telephones, mini bars and under floor heating. Each suite has a private plunge pool and veranda.

  • We had a terrific time in South Africa, thanks to the great tours you organized. Our day in the winelands worked out very well, especially when the driver suggested we substitute Lanzerac for the one I'd chosen. Given that it was 10 am, wine and chocolate was the perfect morning winery selection. Our picnic and tour at Boschendal was great - and the leftovers from our picnic fed us that evening on our lovely patio at La Petite Ferme, so a great day all told. The wine tour at La Petite Ferme the next morning was the best we had of any of the 5 wineries we visited in CT and this area.

  • We also were very big fans of Le Petite Ferme. The lunch there was so yummy and the included a wine tour which was wonderful. The room itself was so quaint as well set in the vineyard with amazing views of the mountains around us. We loved it.

  • La Petite Ferme: way over the top luxury! Not really our style, but undoubted good living and the view from the dining terrace over the valley and the vineyards is as good as you'll get anywhere. The Grill Room in Franschhoek is a very good restaurant.

  • Bob and I had the most wonderful vacation ever and we've had some incredible ones, so that is saying a lot. Le Petite Ferme exceeded our expectations by far and was absolutely a fantastic place to stay. Thank you so much for making our reservations there. Our only disappointment with them was when they were unable to extend our stay for a 3rd night! The room was extremely comfortable and had an amazing view. We particularly loved the porch, the refrigerator and the towel warmer in the bathroom.
