Traveller Reviews

  • Chobe Safari Lodge was so beautiful. Right on the River. Our room had a river view. It had mosquito netting which we used. It was trying to figure out how to envelope yourself. All the tours were fab. Saw lions within 10 minutes of the safari - a pride and them a male courting a female who did not seem interested.

  • Our favorite place was Chobe as the lodge there is just gorgeous! Everything was perfect. The game drives were full of animal sightings with knowledgeable guides to tell us all about them. The food was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and the room was very nice. I can’t say enough good things about this place and will definitely recommend it to my friends.

  • Chobe Safari Lodge was a very pleasant place to stay. The room was very nice and buffet food was good. The highlight of our stay in Chobe was the actual safari tours. We were fortunate to see a great deal, particularly in the afternoon outings.

  • In fact, the trip was amazing. I never thought we would see so much game on our drives - especially in Chobe and Savute. The camps/lodges were also wonderful - especially the Chobe Game Lodge and Savute Safari Lodge. The food was superb throughout our trip. I'm sure I gained weight. Guest services were outstanding, especially at the Chobe Game Lodge and Savute Safari Lodge - I can't express into words how wonderful these two lodges were. Superb!

  • The chobe Safari Lodge was excellent we had a balcony overlooking the Chobe River. We saw a lot of Elephants, Hippos, crocodiles and birds both during the River Cruise and the speed boat cruise. The Speed boat is better since we could get closer to the animals. We took 2 game drives inside the Chobe national park, on the Morning drive (6AM) we encounted Spottle Hyennas and they said we were lucky to see a Lioness with her 2 cubs (they were so close to us), we also saw elephants, warhogs, impalas, giraffes, kudu, and etc. Oh, by the way, an Indian restaurant opened 3 months ago and it was a blessing for us. The buffet dinner at the lodge had little selection for our taste buds. If you get Indian clients tell them there is a VERY GOOD INDIAN RESTAURANT close to Chobe Safari Lodge.

  • The Chobe Safari Lodge was terrific.

  • Chobe Safari Lodge was a perfect accommodation for us, especially traveling with in-laws who had never been on safari - it was comfortable yet rustic enough to feel "the experience" of the river.

    Matthew Dacso, October 2010
  • Travelling through Chobe and ( in a certain way the area around RUNDU (NAM)) was superb. The combination of beautifull landscapes, sunsets, animals, nice population, it all came together. I said to myself when heading around Chobe: They saved the best for last. And that was how I felt about it.

    Mark Renooij, October 2008
  • A hotel not a lodge! Very good facilities I felt a bit oppressed at times by the number of staff who hover around at meal times. This was actually not only my opinion. However a very pleasant place. River cruise was spectacular in terms of game and sunsets. Game drive very short - less than 2 hours - but we were lucky to see lion and leopard in that time. Without this I would have been very frustrated
