The Phantom Forest tree house suites sit beneath a canopy of Afromontane forest in Knysna. The area has a rich and diverse vegetation with forests, Cape Coastal fynbos and estuarine wetland.

The tree houses are built with emphasis placed on sustainable construction methods. They have been built with materials made from alien vegetation and have been decorated with a natural African touch.

This unique and beautiful location lends itself to a number of relaxing and interesting activities. You can explore the area on forest walks, canoe up the Knysna river, or simply relax in the pool while you take in the scenery.

Phantom Forest's facilities are designed to enhance your relaxing experience. The Body Boma offers a range of stress-relieving treatments, such as aromatherapy treatments, reflexology, reiki and Swedish massages. You can unwind in the Bubble Barrel, a forest jacuzzi.

For an invigorating forest experience, or to relax tired muscles after a work-out in the mini-gym, jump into the outdoor  Jacuzzi or “Bubble Barrel” or try the unique sauna.

Dining

You can enjoy sundowners at the Eyrie as you watch the unique forest sunsets. In winter, pre-dinner drinks may be enjoyed around a cozy log fire.

Dinner is served in the Boma, serving New Age International cuisine with an African touch under a thatched roof, ending your meal around the fire pit. You can also dine at Chutzpah, a Morrocan-style restaurant and leisure space with views over Knysna lagoon or around the swimming pool.

Classic Tree Suite

Phantom Forest offers large and elevated tree house suites, made from alien vegetation in accordance with the lodge's eco-restoration programme. All suites have decadent en-suite bathroom facilities with double-ended bathtubs, separate showers and views of the forest. Each suite has a private veranda where you can enjoy the forest views in peace.
