Jatinga Country Lodge is situated just outside the charming town of White River and has a peaceful, English country house feel. The house, a former hunting lodge, still has two of its original fireplaces in the lounge. The White River, which runs through the garden, offers you the opportunity to walk along its banks while exploring the beautiful gardens.

The garden is also home to a citrus orchard as well as a pine forest, ideal for long walks. Unwind beside the secluded pool deck in a comfortable chair or in a hammock. Explore the nearby attractions such as the Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon, Pilgrim's Rest and Bourke’s Luck Potholes.

Relax in the main lounge area in front of a cosy fireplace or explore the pristine gardens on a walk along the White River banks.

Cool off at the pool deck, complete with chairs and hammocks, or grab a pair of binoculars and do some bird watching.

From this ideal base, you can discover the surroundings on a daytrip, organised by your hosts, to top attractions such as the Kruger National Park, Pilgrim's Rest or Blyde River Canyon.

Dining

Jatinga offers exceptional fine dining. Begin your day with a hearty breakfast, including a cold selection as well as a cooked breakfast.

Enjoy a delicious alfresco lunch or a specially-packed gourmet picnic while on a game-viewing outing. Indulge in afternoon high tea with a delicious blend of freshly brewed tea as well as sweet or savoury treats.

Dinners are an elegant affair at Jatinga, with an expertly designed menu that changes daily. Dine in the elegant dining room with spectacular views over the gorgeous gardens.

Begin with a drink in the Lord Milner bar, followed by a visit to the wine cellar to select a bottle of wine before taking your seat for the tasty occasion.

Superior Room

Jatinga Country Lodge offers a variety of accommodation experiences. All rooms are tastefully furnished with various added extras which include outdoor showers, stand-alone baths or fireplaces.

Jatinga offers 16 Superior Rooms, tastefully decorated and furnished in Provencal and French Country styles. Most of the rooms feature a fireplace, private patio, concrete bath and outdoor shower.

Other Room Types

Jatinga offers two Luxury Suites, featuring dual fireplaces that warm up both the lounge and the bedroom. The rooms also feature a romantic 4-poster bed and secluded outdoor shower. For something truly special, the Honeymoon Suite features a 4-poster bed, private garden with outdoor shower, and a plunge pool.

  • The lodge and accomodations were very nice, great hospitality and food as well. Plus the entire area has a huge amount to offer tourists. The spectacular views, history and points of interest in this area were very impressive and you could easily spend 3 days just touring around. We wanted to see the caves and dinnasour park but ran out of time.

  • Jatinga was the perfect place to end the trip. The food was excellent and the grounds were beautiful. We slept in late and lounged around most of the time getting ready for the long flight home. The driver (Chris) who took us on the panarama route trip was great. Gods Window and the other stops where closed due to a strike by the security staff. Chris took us to other locations where we could see all of the sites. He also gave us a lot of info about the area and South Africa. The elephant encounter and ride were wonderful. A lot of info and an amazing ride. We were quite satisfied with the short ride - many of the other participants went on for a longer ride and dinner in the bush.

  • The Jatinga Country Lodge was a very pleasant surprise. I really we didn't lose a day and a half getting to Mauritius but if that was in fact unavoidable, Jatinga was a nice place to spend a night. The colonial country estate feel was very unique. While the property could use some updating we enjoyed our night there and they went out of there way to give us a nice honeymoon dinner in their "wine cellar".
