  • Loved it.

  • Staying in Franschoek was probably my favourite part of the trip. I just couldn’t fault this place – it was stunning. It was an oasis of calm when sat by the pool but then equally just a short walk to the restaurants etc. I had my best ever check-in experience at this place; they came out, greeted us, walked us to our room, showed us round and left us. It took me a minute to realise I hadn’t signed any papers, no passports or credits cards had been asked for – it was just so….’slick’. Probably the best breakfast of our trip was here – and that’s saying something! You got the felling that nothing was too much trouble for the staff at this place. Amazing huge room overlooking the pool as well – I don’t know why anyone would bother to pay extra and stay in the exclusive ‘Four Quarters’ section because the main section was just as private and arguably more attractive.

  • A true corner of wonders with great food and great wine.

  • Franschhoek is a delightful place and staying right in the centre was a bonus for us without a car. Le Quartier was also excellent.

    Debra Agland, October 2013
  • Accommodation at Le Quartier were so relaxing. The tasting was one of the best tasting we have ever had and they did very well with my food requirements.

  • Le Quartier Francais was spectacular. The dinner at the owner's diner was a one of a kind of experience since we were able to interact directly with the chefs and wander around the kitchen as they were cooking.

  • We loved the town of Franschhoek and Le Quartier Francais. We really enjoyed the fireplace in our room and the hot water bottles at our feet in bed. The only day it rained on our entire trip was the day we did our wine tasting tours. We went through the town of Stellenbosch on the tour and from what we saw we were glad we stayed in Franschhoek. Had lunch at the Bread and Wine. The Tasting Room was an experience!!!

  • The immaculate, historical Franschhoek, the surrounding mountains and 2 nights at Le Quartier Francais and the superb best-in-Africa food.

    Colin James, January 2012
  • The only thing I would have done differently is add on a few more days in Franschhoek because we absolutely loved it. We actually looked at house prices we loved it so much!Le Quartier was amazing and I would recommend anyone to go there. There was a small honeymoon gift in our room on our arrival which we thought was a lovely touch.
