Perched on top of a dune plateau, in the heart of the NamibRand Nature Reserve, Wolwedans Dunes Lodge creates the perfect balance between tented camp and permanent lodge. Ideal for couples, the lodge boasts panoramic views in all directions, letting you truly experience this vastly beautiful landscape. The camp's small size allows for an intimate stay and personalised, warm service.

During the day you can set out to explore these beautiful surroundings on scenic nature drives and walking safaris. Get more adventurous with hot-air ballooning, scenic plane flights to the Diamond Coast and Sossusvlei, hiking and mountaineering. Enjoy picnics in the wild, sundowners on the dunes, and romantic dinners by candlelight.

Facilities

You'll find two lounges and several sundowner decks around the grounds, creating private places in which to relax and admire these pristine surroundings.

Enjoy a glass of red wine or a warm mug of coffee around the fireplace to end each day off perfectly.

The tea deck is an especially charming place to enjoy your afternoon tea and snacks, while the library will provide you with ample reading material.

The swimming pool is raised on a wooden deck and offers a wonderful place to cool off after a day of desert exploring.

Dining

Wolwedans Dunes Lodge has two dining rooms in which you can enjoy your meals. Meals are prepared by the talented chefs and feature only the freshest, organic produce.

Enjoy breakfast out in the open, with the sight of the morning light illuminating the dunes. After your morning’s activity, return for a delicious, refreshing lunch before setting out again.

The evening meal features elegant table settings and a more lavish meal, whilst still retaining the unpretentious nature of Wolwedans.

Standard Chalet

The nine spacious chalets have wooden structures and canvas blinds, allowing for the ambience of a tented camp, but the comfort of a permanent building. Rolling up the blinds completely, you'll enjoy incredible views of your surroundings and feel like you're sleeping out in the desert.

While inside each chalet, you'll find crisp white sheets, warm down duvets, and an en suite bathroom with solar-heated hot showers. Walk out onto your private veranda to watch as the desert comes to life in the morning or admire the magnificent star-lit sky in the evening.

  • Although the average age of guests was a bit higher than expected, an experience to never forget. We will for sure come back here and stay a bit longer. We had the best ranger ever. His name was Murphys, nick name Himba man. We learned a great deal about the desert and had a great time there.
