Situated close to Cape Town in the heart of the Constantia Valley, the owner-managed Cellars-Hohenort Country House Hotel offers understated luxury in its celebration of traditional Cape Town values and gracious living. Dining

Cellars-Hohenort Country House Hotel offers the following dining options: The Conservatory is the main restaurant on the property and is located in the Cellars building. The stylish restaurant has been built around a 300-year old oak tree, offering stunning garden views no matter where you sit - inside or out. Using local produce, the Head Chef creates both classic and contemporary dishes.

The Greenhouse offers conceptual cuisine that is inspired by the hotel's Grand Chef who blends classic dishes with his own imagination. The friendly service is always attentive and unassuming, and the sommelier will happily recommend something from the extensive cellar to complement your meal. The Greenhouse was voted as one of the Top 10 Restaurants for 2009 in the Prudential Eat Out Restaurant Awards.

The Cape Malay Restaurant offers authentic local food from Cape Town's historic Malay community. Spicy, rustic colours create a pleasant Eastern ambience and hot towels suffused with rose water will encourage you to relax and eat with your fingers. The wine list has been chosen specifically to complement the spicy foods on offer and include a good spread of local and imported wines.

Before you dine, be sure to enjoy a drink at the stylish Martini Bar, home to apparently the world's largest selection of martinis.

Double Room

Cellars-Hohenort Country House Hotel has 52 elegantly decorated, en suite bedrooms.

The Standard Rooms come as single or double rooms with each having an emphasis on comfort and luxury. These rooms offer en suite bathroom facilities and views of the award-winning gardens.

Many of the rooms open directly out to the gardens, while some of the double rooms are on upper floors and have private balconies.

Other Room Types

Situated in either the historic Hohenort Manor House or the Cellars Main House are the Luxury Double Rooms. These spacious double bedrooms feature adjoining lounge areas and are havens of peace and comfort. Bright and beautifully decorated with garden views, some of the rooms have a veranda with further views of the peninsula and False Bay.

All of the Suites are located in the Cellars Main House and offer enchanting views of the idyllic gardens. Each suite comprises a cosy private lounge with mini bar and bedroom decorated in a fusion of traditional and contemporary style.

Situated in Hohenort Manor House and in the Edwardian-style of the property, the individually decorated Premier Suites are designed to reflect both the traditional and the contemporary and have their own private balcony looking out onto the Herb and Citrus Terraces. The suites are either one-level or split-level and include a separate lounge, a simple kitchen, satellite TV, and an en suite bathroom.

The Dove-cote Suite is located in its own private garden overlooking the Gary Player-designed putting green. It's perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway or those looking for a longer stay. The suite features a bedroom with a king-size four-poster bed, an en suite bathroom with adjacent jaccuzi, and a large sitting room with fireplace. There is a private dining area with a stocked bar.

The Madiba Villa is a gracious, 2-storey, Cape-style home featuring a large open-plan sitting/dining room with fireplace, built-in bar, service kitchen and two double en suite bedrooms with walk-in cupboards. The outside features of the villa include a private courtyard and swimming pool.
