On the eastern side of the Tarangire River stands Tarangire Sopa Lodge. The lodge is located in the Tarangire National Park and is one of Tanzania's most easily accessible conservation areas. The park is home to the largest concentration of elephants in Africa, and over 400 wild bird species, making it a birders' paradise.
Built to blend with the vastness of its surroundings, Tarangire Sopa Lodge lies hidden among the kopjes, ancient baobab trees and grasses of the Tarangire National Park. Constant water supplies create a lush green environment which contrasts with the stark and dry areas, and form concentrations of game, which can be viewed from the guest room balconies.
Set amid lush woodland, Tarangire Sopa Lodge has an elegantly designed main lounge, bar area and dining room which open onto a spacious veranda where you can relax and take in the views beyond.
Much game can be seen around the lodge, allowing you a close encounter with Africa’s wildlife.
Jump into the large swimming pool and cool down in between game drives or take in the African sun at the pool bar.
Children are very welcome at the lodge, and babysitting services are available.
There is also a small gift shop to purchase souvenirs of your safari.
