overview

The Cape Grace is located at Cape Town's vibrant and bustling Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Built on one of the old quays, this red-brick building with its simple and demur exterior has become something of a local landmark. The hotel’s décor is an innovative blend of historic and contemporary, mixing custom-made metal, glass and leather pieces with hand-painted fabrics and museum-quality antiques to create a look that is entirely its own.

Being at the heart of the V&A Waterfront and close to the city centre, The Cape Grace is in a prime position for those wanting to explore Cape Town. Elegant and luxurious, the hotel is ideal for those seeking fine Cape Town accommodation but The Cape Grace is also a great choice for families: children are greeted with a Cape Grace welcome pack and special bedtime story sessions are offered in the library.

Traveller Reviews

  • The hotels and the service were exceptional everywhere we went and I doubt that there is any hotel that can top the Cape Grace for service where the staff could simply not do enough for you. The trips we took around the cape were also brilliant with our guide both entertaining and knowledgeable.

    Alan Galbraith, November 2012
  • Great suggestion - Cape Grace... they know how to pamper you.

    Bill Gilliam, August 2012
  • The Cape Grace Hotel has service that is unparalleled. We were upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment (thank you if you had anything to do with that). The kids couldn't stop jumping up and down and screaming when they saw the apartment. The kids looked forward every day to their 6pm activity with Julia asking about it all day long. Everyone who worked there had a smile and accommodated every request. In our First Class Cabin from Johannesburg to London, 11 of 13 passengers had stayed at the Cape Grace and raved about it (I didn't speak to the other 2 so it may have been 13 of 13). Without a doubt we will be going back to the Cape Grace Hotel at some point.

  • Cape Grace was the most wonderful place to be.

    Douglas Cameron, May 2012
  • Cape Grace hotel was beautiful and in a perfect location. The staff were also very helpful.

    Jason Hochfelder, April 2012
  • I cannot say enough about the Cape Grace Hotel. The property itself was beautiful and located so close to the V & A Waterfront which made it so convenient. The staff at the Cape Grace were so friendly and pleasant. They bent over backwards to please you and made you feel comfortable! We were so happy to have stayed there!!!

    Judi Krumwiede, April 2012
  • All of the places we stayed at were superb, but I must say that the staff at Cape Grace were some of the best I have come across. I travel a lot with work (we were in 32 countries last year) and I must say that they really were a level above a lot of the 5* hotels/resorts we have been to and we will definitely be going back there again.

    David Hilton-Barber, March 2012
  • Very nice hotel, excellent service, the team was very friendly & the meals were great. I would love to book there again the next time we visit Cape Town.

    Ahmed Osman, March 2012
  • Cape Grace was spectacular! It really is a jewel of a hotel. The service is outstanding and the employees went out of their way to assist.

"The Cape Grace is the Grand Old Lady of the V&A Waterfront - just stunning and the experience offered is so luxurious. The location is also one of the best in Cape Town in terms of being so central."
