Most famous for housing Queen Elizabeth II on the night of her ascension to the throne, Tree-tops Lodge offers its guests a royal treat in the heart of Kenya's Aberdare National Park. Ideal for an unforgettable wilderness romance, Treetops Lodge is sheltered by a dense forest and overlooks two waterholes and a salt lick - and on a clear day you can see the snowy peaks of Mount Kenya.

Relax in the comfort of the lodge's raised observation lounges which offer the chance to photograph animals as they come down to drink. At night, you may also ask to be alerted when rare or exciting animals appear. A unique destination in Kenya, Tree-tops is best combined with the country's more traditional savannah parks such as the Masai Mara for a well-rounded safari experience.

Facilities

The focus here is on game viewing and Tree-tops Lodge offers fantastic balconies from which you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the area.

The communal observation lounges also offer the chance to view game in a safe and comfortable environment; there are also four viewing decks and ground-level hides as well as a rooftop viewing platform.

Other facilities at Tree-tops include a swimming pool, gift shop, a lounge with a fireplace as well as opportunities to go on game drives.

Dining

Meals are served in Tree-tops Lodge's restaurant on charming old-world refectory tables with bench seating. Coffee and liquors are served in the lounge area, which is built around trees and offers picture frame windows. The lodge also has two bars.

Standard Room

Tree-tops Lodge accommodation comprises 50 simple cabin-style rooms, either as a single or twin, with shared bathroom facilities. Private en suite bathrooms are available on request.

  • Overall my favorite place. Loved the common area and the night lit pool where lions and a leopard showed up. The treehouse was so cool and the shower there was awesome. Again the bed was too hard for my taste. There was great food except the meat which was so overcooked it was like eating leather. Seriously! But the soups were amazing and so were the veggies, etc. We met fun and interesting folk and great staff. Impressive masai and had the best coffee ever. We would like to come back to this place when the landscape is green. Was a unique and wonderful place.
