Located in the protected sanctuary of Schulphoek Bay, just outside Hermanus, Schulphoek Guest House brings you to the heart of the Western Cape's Whale Coast. Situated close to the beaches of the area and offering incredible views of the ocean, this elegant home is ideal for romantics on their way to or from the Garden Route.

There are many day trips, activities and outings for you to enjoy in this area, including cliff walks, lazy strolls on the beach, wine estate tours, boat-based fishing and a choice between three excellent golf courses. With Hermanus town centre only 5km away, you can also set out to explore this lively holiday town.

Dining

Dining is truly a memorable experience at Schulphoek, with an open-plan kitchen that allows you to see the resident chef at work. The chef is happy to cook with your tastes and interests in mind. Enjoy fresh seafood and seasonal shellfish, as well as venison.

Schulphoek has an impressive wine collection of over 7 000 wines, giving you a wide range of wine to choose from to accompany your meal. On arrival, you're served a complimentary 4-course meal and thereafter, dining will incur an additional charge. The guest house also serves full breakfasts, while salads and light lunches are available on request.

Clam Standard

Schulphoek Seafront Guest House offers only seven double rooms, creating an intimate atmosphere. All rooms are en suite and fitted to meet international standards.

Rooms are divided into standard, superior and family suites and each bedroom is individually decorated, boasting fine linens, goose-down duvets and built-in cupboards.

The standard rooms are spacious and elegant and offer either sweeping views of the bay or a patio that walks out into the quiet gardens. Bathrooms have eco-friendly soaps and shampoos, warmed bath sheets and cosy slippers and gowns.

Other Room Types

Crayfish Seafront Cottage is ideal for family rental as it's located next to the guest house, but offers a self-catering option. Staying in this charming cottage means complete privacy and ample space. The main bedroom is sea-facing while the twin guestroom faces the garden. The children's room sleeps four and the living area, lounge and outdoor deck allows for an ideal family vacation.

The Limpet Suite features local finishes and wooden floors to bring a true sense of Africa. The room boasts two comfortable sofas while the private 'stoep' has two rocking chairs. The bathroom is spacious and features a two person spa bath with aromatherapy salts and candles, and a sofa below a skylight ceiling.
