Situated within the Tarangire National Park and boasting magnificent panoramic views over the Tarangire River and the surrounding area, Tarangire Safari Lodge is a comfortable and authentic safari retreat. Ideal for families, the camp offers many exciting bush and game-viewing activities in the area, and the chance to see a significant amount of African wildlife in their natural habitat.

The Tarangire River is the lifeline of the park and attracts a multitude of wildlife, giving you a prime position at the camp from which to watch the animals that come to drink. Game drives through the park will bring you to search for the Big 5 and see many plains game up-close. When you're not out exploring, spend time at the refreshing swimming pool which also has an adjacent splash pool for the children.

Facilities

The spacious lounge has a high, thatched roof and the open design allows for uninterrupted views of the vast stretches of pristine landscape.

The couches and coffee tables are all individually handcrafted from recycled hardwood from old beached dhows on the Tanzanian coast.

The refreshing, outdoor swimming pool is the ideal place to cool off after a morning in the bush and adjacent to it, you'll find a splash pool for the kids.

Dining

Expect delicious, home-style safari meals at Tarangire Safari Lodge, as you assemble at the spacious, airy dining room with its thatched roof and high ceiling. All of the fruits and vegetables are freshly grown at Simba Farm, on West Kilimanjaro, and chefs will be happy to cater for special dietary requirements. Breakfast is served buffet-style and the cook will prepare eggs or pancakes while you watch. Tanzanian tea and coffee and signature cinnamon rolls will be served to your table. Lunch is also a delicious buffet, with a selection of soups, salads, hot and cold dishes, as well as pastries and fresh fruit. Dinner is a candle-lit, 3-course affair, accompanied by a wide selection of wines. Early dinners can be prepared for the children.

Standard Room

Couples will enjoy staying in the traditional canvas tents, while the stone bungalows are perfectly suited for families. All rooms boast incredible views over the valley and offer a spacious and comfortable retreat.

The canvas tents are sturdy and spacious and each has a thatched roof and veranda from which to view the plains. The en suite bathrooms offer solar-heated showers.

Other Room Types

The five stone bungalows are built from local stone in the circular style of Maasai huts. The thick walls, large windows and thatched roofs ensure that the rooms remain cool during the African summer, and the spacious en suite bathroom has a large shower with solar heated water.

Walk out onto a shaded veranda with views over the waterhole. These rooms can easily be converted into family rooms or triple units, creating a wonderful haven for small families.
