Thanks to the hotel's location in Johannesburg's northern suburbs, it is easily accessible from the city, airport and central railway station. For train-bound guests, a limousine service is on hand to take you to the Rovos Rail and Blue Train embarkation points.

Guests at The Westcliff have the option of swimming in two large heated swimming pools and two plunge pools while for more active guests the hotel offers a floodlit tennis court and a gym with a team of personal trainers.

Specialising in international dishes served up with a distinctly South African flair, The Westcliff Hotel has gained an enviable reputation.

International cuisine complemented by an extensive wine list, silver service and a spectacular backdrop of glittering lights by night have earned La Belle Terrasse the distinction of being among the city's most celebrated fine dining establishments.

The relaxed and welcoming ambience of the Conservatory and Pool Terrace on the other hand is superb for informal get-togethers, meetings or light meals, while the tempting traditional English morning and afternoon teas have become something of an institution at the hotel.

  • The staff at the Westcliff welcomed us like part of their family, which was really wonderful, the check-in was speedy especially given the long flight we’d just come off all we wanted to was get to our room, shower and refresh ? The room was lovely, if a little dated now, but I understand that the hotel has just been taken over by new owners and they will be modernizing the rooms in phases. The breakfasts were delish and views over JHB from the breakfast room was spectacular, the staff at all of the restaurant/ bars were very attentive and went out of their way to accommodate requests where possible. The Spa staff were equally as wonderful, very much a personal experience, the products that they use were Africology which gave the holiday that African feel from the start! I used the gym whilst I was there and found it more than adequate, running machines, bikes and free weights, again with a spectacular view
