Traveller Reviews

  • Cybele- Another fantastic place!!! We didn't want to leave and was bummed we had only one night here. They upgraded us to a courtyard suite, which was beautiful, private, and so romantic! Cybele had the BEST food. We hiked through the forest to their waterfall and they set up a picnic for us and I must say the sandwiches we ordered were the best tasting sandwiches I've ever had. They set up a candle-lit dinner in our room and again the food was delish. Breakfast was also superb, beautiful spread with so many choices. I think it was slow for them during our stay, but I have to admit this was nice for us since it felt like we were on a private retreat :) We hope to go back to Cybele in the future to relax and see a bit more of that region.

  • Cybele was magical. I wish we had an extra day to just enjoy the place. Driving through the Panorama was fun.

  • Thank you for suggesting Cybele Forest Lodge to help both of us with getting over our "Jetlag" - absolutely lovely.

  • It was a very good idea to stay at Cybele lodge the first night. We loved the place (and wish we could have stayed longer!) and really enjoyed seeing some of the scenery on the trip to Simbambili lodge the next day.

  • Cybele Forest. Our cottage here was lovely. We really enjoyed the opportunity to just relax - we read our books, took the walk to the river, had a treatment and enjoyed our evening meal. A very pleasant stay.

  • Cybele Forest Lodge is something else, it overloaded us with quality and perfection of everything. The attention to details were unmatched. We travel a LOT and I sincerely can say "What an amazing place! Wow!" We loved staying there, food, accommodation and service deserves 6 stars.

  • We had a nice drive out to Cybele Lodge where we were met right as we got out of the car by, once again, very accommodating staff. Beautiful place and the ability to walk all around the property was great. We did a couple of excursions from there (Elephant Whispers, God's Window, Potholes and the Big Swing in Graskop!)

  • Cybele was beautiful, including the location and rooms. The service was outstanding as was the food. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Not sure if you have visited the location, but the waterfall picnic was a great experience, after hiking for 45 minutes you come to the falls with a lovely picnic lunch laid out where you can relax and eat prior to hiking back up to the lodge. We were definitely impressed. I think if we were to return we would spend at least 1 more day as it was very relaxing.

  • The Cybelle Forest Lodge was very nice. The food and service were very good. Although we had no issues with the hotel or the service, it would have been too out of the way if we had stayed there for just the one night (as was the original plan). It's the type of place where you would stay for several days to get away from your normal life and just go for walks and relax. Because we did the Panoramic tour it was a good choice.

    Stephan Grace, May 2010
  • Cybele - It was truly a much needed relaxation. It was nice to just relax after five nights on safari at two different reserves. Walking and the drive around the area before going home. The rooms, food, and service were great. (I especially liked the security guard at the gate who saluted us as we came in and left the resort)
