Facilities

Neptune Bar still boasts its original walls dating back to the early Portuguese traders and features old black-and-white photographs depicting Mozambique's past and is a great place to enjoy a drink.

With more than one swimming pool, you'll have a choice of places to cool off or simply lie in the sun. The main pool even has a wet bar, where you can enjoy your drinks without leaving the water.

The Sanctuary Spa has five treatment rooms as well as an ice pool, wet room, hydrotherapy pool, Rasul Chamber, health bar and relaxation areas - the ideal place to truly pamper yourself.

Ask the staff about their newest luxurious treatment - the Sunset Treatment. Enjoy a welcome glass of chilled champagne and a soothing foot ritual, followed by a private Rasul treatment and a delicious picnic. End off the fantastic package with an African Signature Massage that is 4 hours long, beginning at sundown.

Dining

Mozambique has gained a reputation for its incredible seafood. After dinner at the Golfinho Restaurant you will see that this reputation is well founded - with buffets piled high with huge prawns, crayfish, calamari and grilled fish.

Breakfast is also a real treat with a wide selection of delicious options ranging from tropical fruit to a full English breakfast made to order.

For lunch you can wander down to Maguluti (Tides) Snack Bar, which is situated at the activities centre next to a swimming pool and water feature. This à la carte restaurant overlooks the bay, and has an informal feel with light meals including a delicious selection of salads.

Private dining can also be arranged - there's nothing quite so romantic as dinner for two set out on a tropical beach.

Standard Beach Chalet

Indigo Bay has a total of 30 beach chalets and 14 luxury villas, each offering an elegant, yet casual retreat. Buildings are constructed of natural materials like reed, soft-fringed thatch and wood in order to blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings.

Each beach chalet provides barefoot luxury, with a king-sized bed, outdoor shower, living area, dressing room and spacious en suite bathroom. The room also has air conditioning, mosquito netting and a mini-bar for your comfort and convenience.

Traveller Reviews

  • Indigo Bay was memorable. Moji thought the spa was first rate. Service was very good and people particularly nice. It seemed to be very nice for families. Food was very good but probably not quite at the same level of quality as the facilities. Scuba diving was very good. Overall a wonderful vacation.

  • Our trip to Mozambique was lovely. Indigo Bay was a nice place to stay. We were pleased with the accommodations and the scenery was beautiful.

    Ashley Lacobie, April 2012
  • This stay at Indigo Bay has been enchanting! This is a perfect place for those looking for calm and serenity in between hard working weeks! The island is wonderful, accomodation conditions in the family suites are great and food is very good (believe a French tourist!) and the whole staff is perfectly skilled and warm. They also have a good diving centre, with brand new equipments and safe diving instructors, which is a very good point.

  • Indigo Bay Island Resort was also a dream - its just a shame we had to come back to work as we could so have easily have stayed!!!

    Stuart Magness, September 2011
  • Indigo is stunning, a real sanctuary and a chance to relax which was needed.

    Gareth Davies, June 2011
  • In short the whole trip to Indigo Bay was fabulous and surpassed our expectations. I don't know where to start ! Overall we can't recommend Indigo Bay highly enough, we will go back, (again).

  • Beautiful place, gorgeous spa.

  • Indigo Bay was everything we wanted. Our Room was beautiful and the Resort on the whole was perfect. Every worker there was as friendly as you could possibly be. Nothing bad to say about the place. Would definitely recommend it, but getting there was a bit tricky, but well worth it.

  • WOW!! When Sam and I first arrived, we had some trouble relaxing because we were still so stimulated by the safari. Next time I think we'll do the beach first so that we actually relax! But really, this resort was beautiful and it felt very luxurious! The rooms were gorgeous, spacious and very clean. The maids would change the sheets and pillow cases daily which was nice. They also left us little treats every night like foot cream, foot scrub, lip balm etc. That was fun coming back to the room after dinner to our little presents. The food there was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! Sam and I complimented the chef many times.

    Samantha Denham, September 2008
  • Indeed we had an excellent vacation with nothing to complain about. The resort is absolutely nice. The beach chalet was perfectly equipped and located. Beach and water was as good as wished. The activities we made use of were nice to impressive. Food and service were excellent. So, all in all it was a relaxing vacation I could recommend to others.
