Ideally situated on Siever's Point, an ocean front location midway between the town centre and the magnificent Blue Flag beaches, the Abalone Guest Lodge offers easy access to all that Hermanus has to offer. This quaint town is known as the land based whale watching capital of the world and has some spectacular views of the ocean and coastal mountains, too.

Between June and November, spot the whales from the lodge itself, from the beaches or from the scenic cliff path that runs along the coast. Take a guided hike through the nearby Fernkloof Nature Reserve to learn about the fynbos, birds, and history of Hermanus. Hop on a boat and check out the Cape fur seal colony at Dyer Island. Otherwise, just relax at the lodge or wander the main streets of Hermanus look for a few gifts for home.

Dining

Days begin at the Abalone Guest Lodge with a delicious English or continental breakfast in the dining room or on the patio. Complementary coffee and tea is served all day.

Standard Garden-Facing Room

All the rooms at the Abalone Guest Lodge have private balconies or patios and are en suite with panoramic sea and mountain views. Each room is individually decorated with original South African art and has under floor heating, heated towel rails, wifi, and televisions with DSTV.

There are three Standard Garden View rooms situated in an annex of the main house, each with a stunning views of the garden. The two upstairs rooms have additional views of the mountain and are inter-leading, perfect for families. All the rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, and the en suite bathrooms have separate baths, shower, and hand basin.

Situated on the ground level of the main house, the Superior Garden View room has a private patio and offers views of the garden and mountains. The room's en suite bathroom has a separate bath, shower, and hand basin.

Locate on the upper floor of the main house is the Superior Sea View room which offers beautiful panoramic views of the ocean, mountains and garden from its private balcony. The en suite bathroom consists of the same amenities of a separate bath, shower, and hand basin.
