Impodimo Game Lodge is a luxury safari lodge in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. Set on a hill overlooking a natural spring, this stylish thatched lodge offers only 10 suites to provide and intimate and personalised stay. Explore the malaria-free, Big 5 game reserve on a number of game-viewing activities.

Wake up early and watch the sun rise as you set off on a game-drive with your experienced guide and tracker. Head out on a nature walk with an armed ranger, to learn about tracking wildlife and other interesting facts. Relax beside the lodge pool or sala, which overlooks a busy waterhole, before you go on a sundowner safari, followed by a night game-drive in search of nocturnal creatures.

There are various areas where you can kick-back and relax at Impodimo Game Lodge - on the swimming pool-deck, in the cosy lounge area or in the library.

Buy trinkets for your loved-ones back home at the Curio Shop or explore the wine cellar.

For pampering, enjoy rejuvenating in-spa treatments in the comfort of your room, and in winter months, enjoy relaxing beside your crackling fireplace.

Children are welcome at Impodimo, receiving a goodie pack on arrival, and can enjoy specially designed supervised activities including biscuit making, educational walks, plaster casting, and a shorter 'kiddies bumble safari'. Baby-sitting facilities are also available.

Dining

After your morning game-drive and nature walk, head back to the lodge to enjoy a delicious breakfast or brunch spread. Dinners are a Pan-African feast, accommodating all dietary requirements, and are enjoyed alfresco in the open-air boma.

Luxury Suite

Impodimo offers a total of 10 luxurious suites. The 8 spacious glass-fronted Luxury Suites feature twin beds or king-sized, an en suite bathroom with outside shower, tea and coffee facilities, air conditioning, a fireplace, and a private patio.

  • The safari was amazing could ask for anything better. The lodge, staff and of cause the wildlife were fantastic we managed to see 4 of the big 5 and we have to come back to try see the elusive leopard. We got some amazing photos of the lions eating and giraffe fighting.

  • We enjoyed our accommodation and the cuisine was excellent. Our ranger, Travis and tracker Holiday, hit just the right mixture of professionalism, knowledge and friendliness. We saw a variety of game as well as black and white rhino, many elephant, four big black-maned lion, a buffalo herd and a variety of bushveld birds. We also found a very glutted lion resting up and digesting his meal after having brought down a buffalo and her calf, which we also managed to locate in the bush. (We quickly got up-wind of that one!) A special treat was when a herd of about 30 elephants came to the lodge for their mid-morning drink at the pool. The staff even baked me a cake when they heard it was my birthday! Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable experience and well worth a re-visit, especially as the area is malaria free and not much more than three hours from Gauteng.
