  • I spoke to Lord Westbury on Monday and he said that they had great time and everything was very well organized. They found the place easily as per your directions.

  • A fantastic experience. Every aspect was first class. We were familiar with the basic story but were most impressed by the detailed knowledge of the guides and the overall commitment to continue David Rattray's work. We took a half a day and travelled, alone, to Blood River, which we also enjoyed.

  • Fugitives Drift Guesthouse was just right - very comfortable rooms, very pleasant staff and great meals around one big table with other guests and the guides. It gave us every opportunity to get to know the people and what was available. As well as the two tours already booked (Isandlwana & Rorke's Drift) we went on a long tour of the Blood River & Prince Imperial sites. It was all fascinating the guides turned out to be very enthusiastic and well informed, they were excellent story tellers. Far Far more than just a guided tour they were lectures delivered with great feeling right on the site of the battles. A violent thunderstorm at Rorke's Drift mid lecture meant we had to continue inside the Church with windows and doors banging and rattling adding to the effect. It was an experience we will never forget. We also learned a great deal about the Zulu people and there way of life while we were there, it brought all the books I have read of the area (i.e. Wilbur Smith) to life. I can definitely say this was the highlight of our trip.

  • They were very welcoming and the lodge is comfortable, they make you feel like part of the family. Also amazingly interesting tours and fabulous countryside to enjoy.
