  • The Porini Camp in Amboseli was excellent for individualized attention and amazing animal viewing.

  • In terms of recommendations, Amboseli is a yes for anyone who want to see Elephants. The camp is located in a very prolific conservancy and you see lots of wildlife around even your tent (i had a giraffe who loved to have dinner on the tree outside my tent!). However the high in Amboseli are by far the elephants, amazing experience! I would definitely go back to that camp if i decide to repeat the Kenya experience.

  • We loved the Porini Camps. The staff at each were wonderful and very accommodating. The food was excellent. It's hard to pick a favorite. Our sleeping arrangements were very comfortable and my daughter got along fine without a blow dryer. At the Mara we forgot to zip the tent flaps before dinner and were welcomed back at our tent by a couple of vervet monkeys ransacking the inside looking for cookies.

  • As for the accomodation in the Porini camps, the tents were nice, spacious and clean, a lot better and comfortable than one would expect in the middle of the savannas. The food and wine was good and the staff was really nice, friendly and helpful in both camps. The Masai guides were very well prepared and they had a very good command of English which was a positive surprise for me.

  • Jim and I have to say our trip to the Porini camps was the most memorable we ever taken. As seniors who aren't really travel-savvy, we were initially uncomfortable with the idea of exploring Africa on our own. However, Nic and Greg were quite adamant that the Porini Safari Camps would meet our every need and we would feel not only comfortable, but pampered. They were so right and we had the trip of a lifetime! Of course the animals of Africa were wonderful...but the people aligned with Porini Camps were even more so! We were met at the airport and escorted by exceptionally gracious people from the minute we landed until our departure (which occurred too soon).

Jim & Leah Lorber, April 2012
  • The Porini Camps were marvelous - I wouldn't want to go any other way. I saw everything I could think of including the wildebeasts migrating across a dry river bed (they had not moved for days, but they decided to cross literally on the last hour of the last game drive of the last day). The Porini food was excellent, and service excellent, and I love the concept of ecotourism and how they go about doing ecotourism.

  • We thought the Porini camps (Amboseli, Lion, and Rhino) were all just as described and we were so happy with our choice. We had all the comfort we could ask for and still knew we were not harming the land and were, hopefully, doing right by the people. The Maasai guides and drivers and truly, all the staff were warm, considerate, and they had an impressive knowledge of nature. They had our days all planned out with night drives, morning drives with a picnic breakfast fit for a king, guided nature walks, and all day drives with the best safari picnic lunch.

  • I'm back from Kenya and had a wonderful time at Amboseli Porini. The staff really made me feel at home and welcome. The accomnodation was wonderful, every detail was perfect. The food was delicious. I also really appreciated the efforts made in protecting the environment. My guide Harry was extremely knowledgeable. I definitely hope to visit another Porini camp in the future.

  • The safari at the Porini camp was excellent. We were so grateful that you recommended us to go to this genuine camp (and not to the larger lodges). It was a really fabulous experience, wonderful people and we were really well looked after. Safaris were super and we saw lots of animals...only,as expected, Lions were missing....so we already think of when we could do our next trip to maybe the Porini camp in Masai Mara ;-) ...we will let you know!

I just wanted to let you know that we had an absolutely awesome safari! Everything went so smoothly. Gamewatchers did a wonderful job and we loved the experience at the Porini camps. It was a vacation that our family will never forget.

The Amboseli Porini camp experience was the perfect way to ease our family into the African desert and the way of viewing the animals. The scenery was spectacular (despite the lack of rain and Mt. Kilimanjaro being shy most of the time we were there), the sunsets and sundowners were something we all looked forward to, and the animals were both amazing and entertaining. The meals at Amboseli were, frankly, a very pleasant surprise. The staff overall were generous and helpful. As a Professor, I tend to think in terms of grades and I would give Amboseli Porini an A++.
