overview

Samburu Sopa Lodge overlooks the wildlife-rich banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River within the ancestral lands of the Samburu people, who are close relatives of the Maasai people.

Set on raised ground Samburu Sopa Lodge has panoramic views of the distant Samburu hills to one side and El Ndonyo Keri (the Samburu name for Mount Kenya) on the other.

Visit a local Samburu village to experience the local way of life and explore the park on guided game drives. Rare wildlife species like the Beisia oryx, gerenuk and Grevy's zebra can be seen here in one of Kenya's most famous wildlife areas.

Guided nature walks provide a different perspective of the wild landscape and the excellent bird life. This family-friendly lodge has a swimming pool for entertaining the children; baby-sitters and children’s meals are also available.

Traveller Reviews

  • The staff was very courteous and friendly. The accommodations were comfortable and attractively done. Both our guide and driver asked what animals we would like to see and then made every effort to find them. We were able to see every animal that we listed.
