Set on a long white beach on the north-west coast of Mauritius, Trou aux Biches is an exclusive and private island resort offering impeccable island living in a modern 'village-style' environment. Facilities

As the resort is set on one of the finest sites on the island, guests can expect incredible sporting and recreation facilities.

There are all sorts of watersports on offer - from water skiing to diving and from sailing to sea kayaking - as well as 102 swimming pools at the resort, a figure which includes private villa pools, the large main pool and the satellite pools that dominate the restaurant area.

There is also a huge, fully-equipped spa and wellness centre to enjoy as well as tennis, aerobics, beach volley ball, and spinning classes.

Families will love the fact that there are two clubs for children: a mini-club for 3 - 12 year olds and a teens club. Both clubs are professionally run and offer a host of activities and supervised events for your kids while you get a chance to relax, take off on a dive or have a massage.

The resort naturally offers a laundry service and internet access while golf-playing guests will be happy to hear that the resort has a 9-hole course with all equipment ready for hire.

Dining

There are no fewer than six restaurants at Trou aux Biches, covering a wide range of tastes. L'Oasis, the resort's main restaurant, has its own bar, is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves a variety of meals including themed buffets - it's ideal for families.

La Caravelle overlooks the beach and lagoon and serves fine breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets along with cooking stations dedicated to 'live' cooking.

The more relaxed Le Deck serves fresh seafood and grills on the beachfront and is open for lunch and dinner. The remaining three eateries are open for dinner and provide evenings of fine dining.

The Blue Ginger has a selection of authentic cuisine from Thailand while the Mahiya Indian Restaurant serves spicy and delicious Indian food.

Finally, Il Corallo is an intimate restaurant that serves up genuine Mediterranean cuisine in an elegant setting.

The Oscar Bar is open for drinks, snacks and daily pancakes while the Caravelle Bar serves colourful cocktails and champagne and has a fine selection of cigars.

Standard Suite

Trou aux Biches has a number of luxurious and spacious suites and villas spread throughout the extensive gardens in a comfortable 'village-style' setting. Each suite is decorated in natural colours with light wooden furniture and modern hi-tech facilities that include WiFi access and a media hub.

Junior Suites are located on the first and ground floors with lovely garden and pool views. Each suite features either a king-size bed or twins, individual air-conditioning and satellite television. They also offer a spacious private balcony, and some feature an outdoor shower.

Other Room Types

The spacious Family Suites - sleeping up to five people - have interleading rooms and offer lovely pool and garden views, a private terrace and a refreshing outdoor shower.

Beachfront Suites have beautiful views over the Indian Ocean and boast their own outdoor shower and private pool.

In addition to the suites, Trou aux Biches has 27 Pool Luxury Villas with two and three bedrooms. Each is set within a walled garden and has its own private swimming pool, barbeque area and state-of-the-art kitchen plus butler service and entertainment facilities.
