Set in the hills of Pretoria, Castello di Monte offers 16th century Tuscan splendour in the heart of South Africa's capital city, something you'll immediately notice as you drive through rustic copper gates to reach the dramatic staircase, silk curtains and chandeliers of this luxurious guesthouse. Castello di Monte offers an idyllic and peaceful escape while still being close enough to access the city with ease.

Set off into the city centre of Pretoria for its shops, museums and galleries or head to nearby Johannesburg and Soweto to experience the rich drama of these two great historic cities. For something a little less adventurous, tee off with a round of golf on either of two nearby courses, catch up with some reading in the garden, have a swim in the pool, or relax in the sauna or steam shower.

The resident chef at Castello di Monte will prepare your own private menu which can be savoured under a beautiful painted ceiling, inspired by the Sistine Chapel. Formal or informal, your meals are always freshly prepared and delicious. Alternatively, share a bottle of Chianti and a freshly baked focaccia in the Italian courtyard.

Classic Room

Castello di Monte offers nine individually decorated rooms that include a Presidential Suite (complete with fireplace and 4-poster bed), a Honeymoon Suite (with hand-painted murals) and seven bedrooms. These Classic Rooms feature air conditioning, satellite TV, underfloor heating, internet facilities and an en suite bathroom.

The Honeymoon Suite includes the same features as the Classic Rooms with the added amenities of a oval spa bath, double vanities, separate shower and a four-poster bed. Spacious in its design, the Presidential Suite includes the standard amenities of all the rooms with the added features of a DVD player, separate shower room, walk-in closet and a fireplace.
