overview

Situated at Cape Maclear, a small fishing village on Lake Malawi, the Danforth Lodge is an owner-run luxury lodge that offers personal attention and a fantastic array of water and land sports. Bordering on the Lake Malawi National Park, and surrounded by islands, this is one of the most beautiful locations on this magnificent lake.

Lake Malawi is ideal for the diving and snorkelling enthusiast; clear, fresh, warm water, no tides or currents, and over 600 different species of brightly coloured tropical fish known as cichlids. Hire a sea kayak or sailboat and explore the coastline, or go on a fishing excursion. Otherwise, enjoy the many land activities offered including mountain biking, cultural outings to the traditional village, or simply relaxing on the sundeck and admire the views.
