overview

A gracious Victorian villa with a Table Mountain backdrop, The Walden House is set in Cape Town’s smart Tamboerskloof district. It is close enough to the city centre to walk there but far enough removed to enjoy peace and quiet in a leafy environment. The old-world ambience is complimented by contemporary notes and a relaxed simplicity. High ceilings and wooden floors open out to manicured gardens and mountain views, and each suite has a flat-screen television, mini-bar, air conditioning and wireless Internet access. Service is personalised and attentive but discreet.

Complete with secure parking for your rental car and a reservations manager who will make restaurant reservations for you, this boutique accommodation is ideal for independent-minded guests who are looking for an urban edge to their Cape Town experience. Traveller Reviews

  • The Walden House, we more than happy with the location, convenient to plenty of restaurants, Table Mountain (great view of Table Mountain from our balcony), fantastic, clean comfortable room. Breakfast was delicious, accompanied with very pleasant service. The staff were efficient, friendly and more than willing to assist, we would certainly stay here again on our next visit to Cape Town.

  • The Walden House accommodations were in a fantastic area of town. It was very easy to navigate to great restaurants and nightlife in the area. There was a nice mix of guests at Walden House and we were able to meet and spend some time with other guests out in the courtyard the second day we were there.

  • Walden House. Terrific. Fine old converted Villa, lovely room ( we were in the Bridal Suite!! ) great location on outskirts of city, quiet and relaxing with a variety of restaurants nearby, good staff, fine breakfast. Felt like being at home. 10 out of 10.

  • The location of Walden House was perfect and the stay was just great. Again the staff was very warm and friendly and we loved our room which was nice and clean. The location really helped us get in and around the city and also all point of attractions. I would highly recommend staying there again. We were really happy with the service we received at Kruger and Walden House as it exceeded our expectations. We would recommend everybody to stay at these places. It's getting difficult for me to express in words about our experience. Our entire trip was a very overwhelming experience for me. If I get an opportunity I would like to settle down in SA.
