Romantic safari-style stone and canvas chalets on the edge of a natural lagoon make Mosaic Farm a perfect romantic getaway or honeymoon retreat. Set at the heart of the Whale Coast and less than a couple of hours from Cape Town, the farm is surrounded by seemingly endless fynbos on the one side and Hermanus Lagoon on the other: nature lovers will simply revel in their surroundings.

A boardwalk through a grove of gnarled trees brings you to the picturesque lapa with central fireplace, a perfect venue for recapping the day’s activities that could include kayaking on the lagoon, guided hikes and natural trails, a 4x4 beach trip with excellent whale watching in season, or just lazing around the swimming pool watching the light change on the distant mountains. Watch the sun set with sundowners on the beach or take a sunset cruise on Mosaic Farm’s own pontoon boat, an excellent bird watching vantage point.

Explore the lagoon and its abundant birdlife with the kayaks provided or take a mountain bike to take a trip into fynbos-covered hills.

The lapa and swimming pool deck are ideal places to survey your natural surroundings, or you can watch the world float by from the pontoon boat.

The 1892 Spookhuis Café provides delicious delicacies and picnic baskets to give you the chance to explore further afield.

Dining

Mosaic Farm provides you with delicious breakfasts and gourmet dinners, prepared by their talented chef. Mosaic Farm is also home to 1892 Spookhuis Country Cafe, open from Tuesdays to Sundays and offering freshly-baked breads, muffins, pastries, cured meats, cheese platters and more. Order one of their deliciously stuffed picnic baskets and recline under the milkwood trees by the lagoon for a lazy afternoon. Browse through the local market and select your own organic vegetables, homemade jams and chutneys, fresh-baked breads, cheese and cured meats to take home. Barbeque baskets with ready marinated meats and other food items are available for self-catering guests.

Luxury Suite

Mosaic Farm Lodge has five suites built using canvas and local limestone and with safari-style thatched roofs. Each two-person room has a bed under netting, a large romantic tub, outdoor shower and a wooden deck with magnificent views of the local mountains and Hermanus Lagoon.
