  • Having a fabulous time at Marlin Lodge, definitely don't want to leave here!

  • When we arrived at Vilanculos, Vicky still didn’t know we’d be transferring by boat. She was so excited when they told her, and stepping of into the ankle-deep water in pristine white sand almost made her cry! It really is a stunning setting; again pictures will never do it justice. They left us notes and flowers and would get us anything we asked for. The staff are really friendly. Again the food was awesome. This time it was mean who didn’t used to be the seafood-eater but I thought I’d dive in at the deep end. I had crab, calamari, shellfish, mackerel, lobster, tiger prawns and loved it all! The individual menus and the way they present the platters is a lovely touch. Another highlight was the picnic they put on. They set you up your own little spot, bring the lunch and drinks and just leave you to enjoy – magic! We loved the diving and snorkelling and a few walks around the coastline. It’s such a beautiful spot that it was the perfect “2nd leg” to finish our honeymoon.

  • Marlin Lodge... wow. Such an immaculate property. Beautiful. Once again, amazing staff and service, rooms, and some of the best food we've ever eaten anywhere. We also really enjoyed taking a drive around the island. The people in the villages were so friendly and the scenery was spectacular.

  • Let me tell you about Marlin Lodge...... It was outstanding. I had certain expectation but it far surpassed them. The place for starters was more beautiful than anywhere I have ever been and the lodge itself was spectacular. The staff were super friendly and there was nothing that I asked for that was too much for them. We just continued to have one great experience after another. Their attention to detail was incredible. I am completely sold on the place and would recommend it to anyone for a vacation but especially a honeymoon. And myself and Frannie will definitely be going back there when we have got some time and money - seriously, seriously, seriously worth it.

  • Special mention to Marlin Lodge who arranged a private dinner for us on the beach on our last night with a specially designed menu around what we wanted at no extra cost. Amazing location, accomodation, food, hospitality and service. Again we couldn't fault it!

  • I also want to thank you for your guidance with choosing the Marlin Lodge. It was such a lovely place. It truly did have more of an authentic feel there. It was so neat to see some of the towns in Mozambique. The staff at the Marlin Lodge was wonderful; they were so personable and saw to it that anything you needed was taken care of. We did a snorkeling trip there and it was one of the best ones we have ever done! We looked for shells all day long on the beach and relaxed.

  • Great service and a magical spot. Benguerra is so untouched. The locals are so friendly and the island is gorgeous. While we had cooler weather than normal it was still superb. We had a great dive there and enjoyed horse riding, Pansy Island and a great snorkelling session. Amazing live corals! The bush bath is a must. The staff do such a great job making it very romantic on the deck. The chef Patrick was outstanding. When on the first night I told him Yvonne loved crab while we were at the bar, he disappeared only to return 10 minutes later with 4 fresh crabs with amazing chilli dip!!! Awesome. Nothing as too much for the team and although Yvonne felt I packed a lot in, I am sure she loved the place.

  • Mareth and I could not have been happier....staff wonderful, accommodations (including best outdoor shower ever), and the food was terrific (SA chef a nice man....gave us a kitchen tour which we enjoyed immensely). Wonderful fresh fish every day. Tour of villages and school very good... they seemed to appreciate our gift of school supplies.

"'It's more fun to talk to someone who uses short easy words like 'what about lunch?'' was the Winnie the Pooh quote that greeted us when we arrived, and I think Marlin Lodge offers just that; small personal touches that will make your stay here special."
