Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is set in a true natural wonder, the pristine and unique Okavango Delta. Located in the heart of the Kalahari Desert, the world’s largest inland delta supports a rich diversity of wildlife on its islands and waterways. A birder’s paradise, some 450 species make their home here. Among the excellent Big 5 game viewing, you may encounter the rare and graceful red lechwe and semi-aquatic sitatunga antelope.

Set in a serene rain forest on the banks of a permanent river, Sandibe Lodge is characterized by sumptuous décor and skilfully sensitive architecture. Activities centre around the area’s rich game viewing on morning, afternoon and early evening drives, and guided walks.

Sandibe Lodge serves an alfresco banquet of Pan-African cuisine in a communal dining area, perfectly positioned under a canopy of trees. Candlelit dinners may also be served in the shelter of the boma. On request, the staff delight in arranging romantic dinners for two, either on your private viewing deck, or away from the Lodge for a uniquely African bush dining experience.

Spacious and tastefully decorated with an en suite bathroom, each cottage boasts a private game-viewing deck overlooking the Santandibe River. Traveller Reviews

  • Sandibe lodge had the real wow factor. Viewing was not quite as good (Sam had spoilt us!) but the lodge, our personal butler Judy (she certainly deserves a mention) and the surprise bush dinner and lunch made our stay fantastic.

  • We had a fantastic time. Above and beyond our expectations. Spoilt rotten. Sandibe Lodge, such a beautiful place. Our trip on the boat, we caught fish!!! The lovely sundowner with champers and canopies after, to die for. Private dinning by our deck. Boma was great as well, singing and dancing, food excellent... We also had time for private moments with the local visitors (elephants, monkeys, baboons and Kudu)

  • Both Sandibe and Nxabega are obvious past masters at the safari business. andBeyond seem to have got most things just right. We saw some excellent game, had a close encounter with an elephant in a boat, and the staff at both sites were magnificent. Despite the very warm weather it was extremely enjoyable.
