Situated within the Timbavati Nature Reserve - sharing an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park - Motswari Private Game Reserve offers an intimate, elegant safari experience. Ideal for romantics and honeymooners, this family-owned and operated lodge brings a personal touch to your safari experience, and a welcoming, exclusive stay.

Accommodating no more than 30 guests at a time, the lodge is a natural haven and ideally located to search for Africa's Big 5 on morning and afternoon game drives. Also keep an eye out for the Timbavati white lion, the African wild dog, cheetah and more than 350 different bird species. Other activities include guided walking safaris and sunset game drives.

Facilities

Motswari has two fully licensed bars where you can relax with a drink after a long day in the bush, drinking in the beautiful surroundings and sharing stories.

Soak up the African sun beside the pool and escape the heat of the day with a refreshing dip.

Visit the lodge shop for curios, gifts and artworks created by local artists. 

The library offers an interesting selection of African books to peruse, while the art gallery boasts a beautiful collection of local artwork constructed of wood, bone and stone.

Motswari also has a local sculptor who practises his art and sells sculptures inside the reserve.

Dining

Because Motswari is an intimate camp, you can choose to dine in a variety of locations.

The lounge offers a relaxed and comfortable indoor dining venue, while the dedicated dining sites along the walking trails offer a more romantic and private option.

You can also choose to enjoy your gourmet meals in the bush surrounding the camp - a truly memorable experience - or inside the traditional African boma.

The cuisine is meticulously prepared by the resident chefs to satisfy your every culinary need and is accompanied by an award-winning selection of southern African wines.

Luxury Bungalow

The 15 luxuriously appointed bungalows are spacious and elegantly furnished to provide a comfortable, private place to relax without being removed from nature. Large windows allow natural light in and afford you with beautiful views over the surrounding bush.

Each double suite has a four-poster bed with mosquito netting, sitting area, and writing desk, as well as air conditioning and an en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and two separate wash basins.
