Set in a grove of ebony trees on the banks of the Luangwa River, Mchenja Camp is a stylish tented camp situated in the famous South Luangwa National Park, rated as one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in the world and home to Africa's best walking safaris. The lodge's relaxed, intimate luxury makes it an ideal destination for honeymooners.

Visitors often include Mchenja as part of their camp-to-camp walking safari but the camp also functions as a stand-alone accommodation - and there's plenty to do: the camp offers day and night game drives as well as walking safaris while for your comfort and relaxation, the camp provides a lounge and dining area, small library, bar and shaded plunge pool.

Mchenja Camp provides guests with a comfortable and intimate environment in which to relax and experience Africa's landscape and wildlife - and with only five tents available, no wonder the camp is popular with honeymooners.

You could chat about the excitement of your game drive or walking safari while relaxing in the lounge, or spend quiet moments reading in the small library. Indulge in scrumptuous meals outdoors or indoors, grab a drink from the bar and take a refreshing dip in the plunge pool while listening to the calls of birds and hippos in the river nearby.

Dining

Mchenja Camp prepares early pre-excursion breakfasts and will have a delicious hunger-busting brunch waiting for you upon your return.

Lunches and dinners can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors and a variety of drinks are available from the bar.

Luxury Tent

Mchenja Camp only has five spacious and luxurious tents, set under a thatched roof.

Each tent has been designed with style and comfort in mind and provides guests with their very own open-air, en suite bathroom with bath and outside shower that look out over the river and surrounding South Luangwa landscape.
