Traveller Reviews

  • We loved our stay at Periwinkle Guest Lodge, our third favourite of the holiday after the game reserve and Cape Town. The facilities were lovely, relatively well located, but the staff were fantastic and we felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. It was a relief after our stay in Knysna. The breakfast was lovely and the staff gave us a small bottle of champagne and roses on our first day. After arriving we went to Birds of Eden, Monkeyland and the Elephant Sanctuary. We would definitely recommend all of these places. The second day we did the Tsitsikamma Canopy tour which was also fantastic and we'd recommend. I think we definitely enjoyed having plenty of things to do whilst we visited Plettenberg Bay. We would definitely return to this area.

  • It was beautiful, lovley rooms and views and the owner was EXTREMELY helpful, gave us some super advice about places to go. We spent the last night in the house which is lovely and suited us for that night as it was our only rainy day and so having the extra space indoors for the children was ideal. Monkeyland is EXCELLENT.

  • I loved it. It is a really great communal area which is huge with lounge, fire, views, etc. Def recommended. Went to Kynsna for the day, but really much preferred being in Plett. Much more scenic and relaxing.

  • It was excellent value and fantastic views etc. The people were so friendly.

  • Great location, right on Robberg Beach and a fantastic modern building. Breakfast was delicious and taken on their balcony - where the first day we spotted dolphins and the second, a Brydes Whale!

  • The accommodation was very well chosen and was of a very good standard, and the locations you suggested were perfect.

    Paul Honeywell, January 2008
  • It was the most beautiful vacation we have ever had. It has everything, the big city Cape Town, the vineyards, the whales, the most beautiful lodges, the friendly people, the game reserve (this was the best of it), from the beginning to the end - everything was great.
