Situated on the east coast of Zanzibar, Blue Bay Beach Resort is a spacious and luxurious retreat set in over 30 acres of tropical gardens and sparkling white sandy beaches. The resort has long reflected the historical charm and style of its famous island home with its eclectic African style and a rich Indian Ocean heritage that is obvious throughout the resort.

A range of activities are offered at Blue Bay Beach Resort - the most popular include snorkelling, deep-sea fishing and diving in the spectacular waters of the Indian Ocean. The resort also features a fitness centre, spa and tennis court. Those who would rather sip cocktails and catch the sun can do so by the pool or on the resort's beaches. A wide variety of watersports and Indian Ocean activities can be organised for you by the staff at the Recreation and Watersports Centre. This professional establishment offers wind surfers, kayaks, pedal boats, beach volleyball and floodlit tennis courts to name a few of its amenities.

You can also enjoy some of the best diving in Zanzibar care of Bluebay Beach Resort's external dive company - One Ocean.

Dining

From light meals on the beach to more formal dishes in an elegant restaurant, Blue Bay Beach Resort has a variety of dining options for you to chose from. Enjoy magnificent views of the pool and the ocean beyond at Makuti Restaurant as you have a meal during the restaurant's set times. Breakfast is a delicious buffet, while dinners are themed on a rotating 10-day basis.

For a more relaxed atmosphere, head down to the beach to the Beach Bar and Restaurant and choose from a variety of light meals such as seafood, pizza and salads while digging your toes into the sand. Experience some of the best seafood and steak dishes at Bahari Grill: this specialist restaurant offers a spectacular, evening-dining affair.

Garden Room

Blue Bay Beach Resort offers six Garden Rooms, 72 Superior Rooms, 24 Club24 Rooms, eight Junior Suites, and two Sultan Suites, each consisting of a spacious en suite bedroom, dressing room and private veranda or balcony, and all decorated in an East African style.

All rooms are equipped with large four-poster beds with mosquito nets, air conditioning, satellite TVs and mini bars. Located in the magnificent, manicured gardens are the Garden Rooms. These spacious rooms are very comfortable and feature the luxury inclusions of the other rooms.

Other Room Types

Offering stunning views of the ocean, the Superior Rooms are spacious bedroom cottages set on elevated ground with further views of the garden and pool. These rooms have the additional feature of a ceiling fan and electronic safes.

Located on a private 30-acre section of the resort are the Club24 Rooms, each with fabulous sea views, a free-flow pool and separate Jacuzzi.

Set in a private area that is just a few strides from the beach are the exclusive Junior Suites. Each suite has a sea view and a large open lounge, an enclosed outdoor garden shower and an extended veranda.

Situated right on the sands of Kiwengwa beach are the Sultan Rooms which feature large and spacious living areas with all the creature comforts. Enjoy a good night's sleep on the eight-foot bed, relax on the Zanzibari-styled veranda, and allow your personal butler take care of your every needs.
