Above the library is the viewing deck, a perfect place to enjoy a drink from the deck's bar as you sit around the fireplace. You can even check out the night sky with the GPS-controlled telescope.

To completely relax, first take a dip in the large infinity pool before settling down in one of the plush lounging 'pods' or poolside deck chairs.

Then it's time to rejuvenate your senses with a treatment at the Sanctuary's spa. The spa offers massages, aromatherapy and other beauty treatments, all conducted by trained professionals.

Sultan's House

The Sanctuary at Ol Lentille offers four individually designed villas, each representing a particular theme and complete with a dining room, sitting room and kitchen as well as a mixture of private courtyards, gardens, viewing decks and plunge pools.

The Sultan's House is a Lamu-style design with a huge thatched roof, fine plaster carvings and stunning furniture. The spacious double bedroom has a four-poster bed and en suite bathroom. There is a second bathroom for guests, and enough space for a child's bed.

Other Room Types

Reflecting contemporary Africa, the Chief's House combines modern interiors with the best of African art, fabrics and artefacts. There are three en suite double bedrooms and a dressing room as well as an outdoor bath for the master bedroom. The sitting room has a cosy fireplace and the outdoor deck has a private plunge pool.

Designed in a colonial/military-style, the Colonel's House is a blend of brass-bound furniture, oriental carpets, and a stunning Knole couch in front of a fireplace. The house has two double en suite bedrooms each with a separate shower and sunken bath. The courtyard offers opportunities for outdoor dining or cooling off in the private plunge pool.

The Eyrie is an en suite single bedroomed house set outrageously on the top of the lodge's rock kopje (small hill). Designed in a retro-style, the house is seductively furnished and features a large round bed in the circular bedroom. There is a private outdoor double rock bath with stunning views of the rugged hills in the distance.
