overview

The multi award-winning Outpost luxury safari camp is set in the little-visited northern region of the world-famous Kruger National Park, a vast wilderness rich with wildlife. It's one of the top bird watching areas in the country and elephant and buffalo herds are common in the region as are leopard and lion. Rhino have also been recently reintroduced.

Early morning, late afternoon and early evening game drives are on offer as well as exciting guided walks (two-week notice required). Experienced guides will make sure you get to see some of the most remote areas in the park and will tailor your experience to your interests. You may also want to visit the Thulamela archeological site for an insight into the human aspect of the area.

Dining

Breakfast can be enjoyed in The Outpost's main dining area with views of the Luvuvhu River valley. Lunch may be served as a picnic out on a game drive, under baobab trees or on shady river banks.

Likewise, dinner may be enjoyed in a number of locations - an enclosed courtyard under the stars or out on the pool deck. Special dietary requirements should be discussed in advance because of the remote location and to make sure the best produce is sourced to suit your culinary needs.

Luxury Suite

The Outpost accommodates a maximum of 24 guests in 12 stand-alone rooms positioned on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River valley. The rooms are all connected by a Zimbabwean teak walkway and each has an outdoor terrace and day-bed.

The rooms are decorated in a contemporary African style and include an indoor lounge and bedroom with an en suite bathroom sporting great views of the river. Goose down duvets grace the king-size beds which are fitted with mosquito netting.

"Here you have a space rather than a room and the views from the bath over the Baobab dotted valley are simply magical. This lodge is perfect for second time safari goers wanting a variety of landscapes and scenery."
