Impalila Island Lodge is situated on an island where the Chobe and Zambezi rivers meet. From the air it is an amazing mosaic of waterways, floodplains and bush, while on the ground, exceptional birdlife, game viewing and assorted vegetation abound. The surrounding waters provide for outstanding fishing opportunities.
Many activities may be enjoyed at Impalila Island Lodge, such as game viewing and game cruises along the Chobe River with possible sightings of elephant, hippo, buffalo and lion. Fly-fishing and conventional fishing from either a mokoro or motorised boat on the Zambezi, Chobe or Kasani Rivers offer tigerfish, bream and many other species. Mokoro trips provide the opportunity for bird watching or fishing, or simply a tranquil experience of these waterways. Set off on a day trip to the nearby Victoria Falls by charter or road transfers as well as specialist guiding and scenic charter flights over the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers.
The main complex facilities at Impalila include a swimming pool, bar, curio shop, reference library, lounge and dining area, all built under the canopy of an ancient baobab.
