overview

Despite its location in Johannesburg's commerical and retail hub of Sandton, the stylish Balalaika Hotel and its landscaped, private gardens provide a haven of peace and tranquillity in the heart of this bustling city. This superior hotel mixes a classic colonial ambience with the most modern of facilities to give its guests a tasteful stay in the heart of Johannesburg.

Guests in the mood for a shopping trip will be delighted to hear that Sandton has one of the largest shopping complexes in Southern Africa - the upmarket Sandton City complex and the adjacent renaissance edition, Nelson Mandela Square. Both centres are within easy walking distance of the Balalaika, and numerous late-night restaurants, bars, nightclubs and theatres are also within easy reach.

"The Balalaika is like the Good Old Faithful in Sandton. A business style hotel holding all of its old charm and candour, it rooms are comfortable, the service is great and the food is really wonderful. There isnt overly fancy about the hotel but a very good choice for a quick overnight for those travellers looking for a central location but something that wont break the bank. I really enjoying staying at the Balalaika Hotel."
