Superior Tent

Primate Lodge has three different accommodations on offer: Safari Tents, Forest Cottages, and a Sky Tree House.

There are eight luxury safari tents that sit on raised wooden platforms with grass-thatched roofs. Each tent has a private terrace offering stunning views of the forest. The inside of all the tents are decorated in African style with a queen-sized bed, bright coloured linen, and large windows. An en suite bathroom of local stone and bamboo completes the tent.

Other Room Types

The Forest Cottages are located throughout the nearby forest. These single-room cottages each have a private verandah, twin beds and a sitting area. There is a full en suite bathroom with a shower and flushing toilet.

The Sky Tree House is ideal for those guests with a sense of adventure. This remote tree house consists of a simple bedroom with basic facilities at the base of the tree. The house overlooks a scenic elephant wallow, so not surprisingly; the elephants are herd passing by at night.

Traveller Reviews

  • The Primate Lodge Kibale was very adequate, we were warmly welcomed, as we were in all the accommodation, quite a walk up to and back from our tent though, which was very comfortable. The chimpanzee walk was remarkable, our wonderful guide Ronald made it memorable, sharing his knowledge and insights into chimp behaviour, and I was in seventh heaven taking photos. A funny incident happened- a local television crew came past when we were resting waiting for the chimps, and they were walking fast and wearing rain ponchos, which the chimps didn't like, and when the crew got up close to photograph the chimps, one went berserk- screaming and racing through the undergrowth and ran past and smacked one of them on the leg, we thought the cameraman would have a heart attack!
