Situated in the forests of Uganda in the Kibale Forest National Park, the Primate Lodge is ideally located for exploration and a chimp trekking adventure. Offering a range of accommodation types, from tented suites to thatched tree-top suites, Primate Lodge is a comfortable base from which to explore the lush forests.

Set out on morning and afternoon expeditions, seeking out the chimpanzees as well as the other 13 primate species that can be found in the area. Birding is also excellent in the forest with approximately 325 recorded species found in the area. Enjoy guided nature walks through the forest, as well as a night walk in search of the nocturnal inhabitants of the forest.

Facilities

On a chilly evening, cosy up to the unique fire cave and exchange stories of the day’s adventures.

Relax on the large comfortable chairs and couches in the lounge area, an ideal spot to unwind and listen to the sounds of the jungle and primates outside.

Dining

Meals at the Primate Lodge are served in the dining area and are influenced by both local and international flavours. Coffee and drinks can be enjoyed at the well-stocked bar adjacent to the dining area.

Luxury Safari Tent

Primate Lodge has three different accommodations on offer: Luxury Safari Tents, Forest Cottages, and a Sky Tree House.

There are eight luxury safari tents that sit on raised wooden platforms with grass-thatched roofs. Each tent has a private terrace offering stunning views of the forest. The inside of all the tents are decorated in African style with a queen-sized bed, bright coloured linen, and large windows. An en suite bathroom of local stone and bamboo completes the tent.

Other Room Types

Seven Forest Cottages are located throughout the nearby forest. These single-room cottages have a private veranda, twin beds, and a sitting area. There is a full en suite bathroom with a shower and flushing toilet.

The Sky Tree House is ideal for those guests with a sense of adventure. This remote tree house consists of a simple bedroom with basic facilities at the base of the tree. The house overlooks a scenic elephant wallow, so not surprisingly; the elephants are herd passing by at night.
