Buhoma Lodge is one of the original camps in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorillas. The camp is located within the park and enjoys views over the forest canopy.

The camp has an intimate, homely atmosphere; during the cool evenings, you can sit by the fire in the lounge and chat about your day's adventures. Return to your room heated by hot coals and hot water bottles in your bed. This is a good base from which to trek into the ancient rainforest in search of the mountain gorillas or go chimpanzee trekking. Other less strenuous activities include scenic forest walks, birdwatching, and searching for smaller primates.

The elevated central lounge area features cosy fireplaces for chilly evenings, a welcoming bar and dining area  and views across the impenetrable forest.

Complementary massages are offered on your return from trekking to find the Gorillas.

Dining

Meals at Buhoma Lodge are freshly prepared using local produce and are served in the central dining area.

A variety of international dishes are served, as well as local dishes such as matoke and g-nut sauce.

Buhoma Lodge has 8 en suite cottages built from sustainable, local materials, each with a private veranda where you can relax and admire the views across the tropical rain forests.

All bathrooms have hot and cold running water and flush toilets.
