Traveller Reviews

  • Cape Town was far more beautiful than we ever imagined. Our choice of the Villa Zest was perfect for us, especially because of Janese. She was welcoming, knowledgeable and very helpful in scheduling our Peninsula tour, Wine country tour, and Robben Island visit. She suggested Shawn of Trek Direct Tours for our personal guide. He was also very knowledgeable, helpful and articulate. He had gone to university with James and knew him. I have a new appreciation for Stellenbosch University as everyone who went there that we encountered was so well informed. The peninsula was stunning in its magnitude and beauty as was the wine country. We were pretty lucky in Cape Town weather, given that it was the beginning of winter. It was cloudy only for the wine country day but it cleared up by the end of the day. We think that South Africa doesn't get enough credit for its beauty but, then again, we don't want it to be ruined by too much tourism.

  • I would highly recommend this place. The staff were amazing and really went out of their way to make the stay special, even though it was only one night.

  • While at Cape Town, we were initially a little concerned about the Villa Zest being a bit quiet and off the beaten path, but as it turned out, we really loved our time there and found the staff to be amazingly friendly, informative and accommodating. We loved the day trips to the Winelands (and loved our guide), and to the Peninsula / Cape of Good Hope. I would also strongly recommend a restaurant that we ate in called "Beluga". It was very trendy, with a lot of energy and amazing food and service.
