Explore the nearby Kipungani village, just 2km away, or head out into the water where you can go snorkelling and swimming, possibly even with the resident dolphins. Take a boat to Manda Island to visit the Takwa ruins, go windsurfing or kayaking, or simply sit on the beach with a sundowner and enjoy the sunset.

Facilities

After a morning swimming in the Indian Ocean, return to your suite where you can spend the afternoon cooling off in your private freshwater pool.

Book a fishing excursion or a safari on the mainland, or set out into the Indian Ocean for a full day of deep-sea fishing.

Cross the channel to the mainland for a 3-hr exploration of Kenyatta Lake which is home to elephant, hippo and lion.

Pamper yourself with a massage or beauty treatment from one of the resort’s two beauticians.

Dining

Enjoy delicious meals three times a day which are freshly prepared by the Kizingoni Beach House chef using local ingredients. Otherwise try it yourself, and prepare your meals, after discussing the menu with the chef, who will then organise a shopping trip to Lamu. Certain items (meat, cheese, condiments) are required to be purchased by the guests themselves, although fresh fish from the market is sourced by the chef.

Standard Room

Kizingoni offers six individual luxury houses and three individual comfortable bandas, all of which are spacious and private. Each house is fully-equipped and comes with a manager, room steward, waiter, chef and boat captain, while the bandas have an en suite bathroom and terrace.

Kizingoni House is designed in a Swahili style and has a west facing view, perfect for viewing spectacular sunsets. The house includes a private courtyard, plunge pool, first floor terrace, and a roof-top viewing deck. Each of the 4 double bedrooms is en suite with a private balcony.

Other Room Types

Located on a small sand dune, the Kuni Jogo House offers panoramic views of the beach and channel. It is spacious and tastefully furnished, with large terraces, a swimming pool, and gardens. The house sleeps 10 people in 5 en suite bedrooms.

Surrounded by palm trees, the Wazi Dubu House is extremely private and offers spectacular views from its location on the southern-most point of the property. The house features private terraces, a pool with floating bean bags, plenty of baraza seats and swinging beds, and a breakfast roof.

Kusini House is a secluded hideaway, decorated in traditional Swahili style and offering sumptuously-furnished bedrooms. A sundowner bar, baraza area, lap pool, private veranda and beach on its doorstep make Kusini an ideal holiday hotspot.

Set in a 2-acre garden, Jahazi House features an inner courtyard with a private pool. The wrap-around veranda opens out onto the beach with boat moorings close by. Each of the four bedrooms is en suite with private verandas.

Positioned at the end of a private beach path, the Pepo House is a multi-floor villa offering views of the sea and surrounding palm trees while catching the faint Indian Ocean breezes. The house features three double en suite bedrooms, a separate guesthouse with a double bedroom, a dining pavilion, private terraces and outdoor swimming pool.

Newly built, the Kizingoni Bandas offer comfortable accommodation for singles, couples, or honeymooners. Each banda features its own bathroom and mini-terrace, while sharing a spacious pool and dining area. The bandas have access to the resort's chef, water sports, and safari activities and can use the speed boat on request.
